How is that possible when Farwell has had the same number of tackles that Frampton has had & almost 3 times as many as Onatolu has had over the past two years?

Yep, that cat Farwell played so poor in 2009, they sent him to the Pro Bowl.

Had to of been a money thing. After base salary and bonuses I think he was gonna be paid around 2.5 - 3 mill but I don't get why they couldn't restructure his deal.

It cleared $1.75 mil in cap room.

Farwell, a special teams standout who was to make $1.75 million this season, hurt his hamstring in training camp and thus became a casualty of the slim space under the salary cap.

Heard someone say "Offence wins seats, Defence wins games, special teams win championships" Heath Farwell seemed to be on every tackle at one point and I have no idea why he would be cut in favour of the other two. I suppose I don't know the ins and outs of the backroom details and there must be a valid reason, just can't think what it might be. The only specila teams player whose shirt I would have considered buying.

You have to differentiate between tackles as a backup LB and ST's. Trust when I tell you, he didn't get in on many ST's tackles my friend.

Sure it does. Problem in this instance Singer didn't take out the reps he got in mop up duties as a LB'r.

Go back, re-read my end of game rants. I specificaly noted when he did or didn't get tackles last year just to prove a point. Everyone seemed to ignore it or say that it didn't matter cause he was such a great "Leader".

Look, I've been saying the guy hasn't been in on tackles for 2 years. It isn't like this is something new here.

Was it more about money? Sure, I said that, but it made it easy to make it about money because of the production.

Did your notes say anything about him making the Pro Bowl in 2009, the same year your claiming he didn't make any ST tackles & wasn't productive?

Farwell missed the entire 2008 season due to injury, and the Vikings special teams practically fell apart without him, becoming the worst in the league and tying and NFL record for giving up the most special teams points in league history. This year, Heath returned to the team healthy and ready to play, and the kick coverage took a complete 180 degree turn.

Farwell’s contribution and importance to the Minnesota Vikings was recognized this year by fans and by the league as Heath was selected to be the Special Teams Specialist representing the NFC in the Pro Bowl.
