From Hating Favre to, hey, I'm Happy he's a Vike
Before he came to the Vikes...I will admit, I grew to admire him.
Mostly as a person, a competitor.
Hated him as a young Packer - I mean, completely hated everything about him.
Packer putz, drug addict, hillbilly, etc.
And,
I loved that John Randle, Chris Doleman, and others terrorized him...and, he struggled playing in the Dome.
But, I must say, as he got older, I grew to appreciate his work, passion, and, how he made everyone around him better.
How obvious is it now that he is on our Team?
Brett Favre is a special, special, NFL Quarterback.
Kinda like Barry Sanders and Walter Payton, how could you hate them?
Brett Favre is one of the unique stars in the NFL and in sports.
In that, his passion for the game is so obvious that you simply have got to give him some respect.
Witnessed last week...so, after carving up the Seahawks for 4 td passes, Brett Favre was in the film room...studying film, ALONE, no coaces.
May God Bless!

Max - I second everything you said.
I hated him as a Packer but I always admired the way he played the game just like those others you mentioned.
I love the Vikes but I am also a fan of the game.
Therefore whoever I see play the game with passion I enjoy watching.
Some of the other players I like to watch are Brian Uhrlacher, Ray Lewis (although he plays dirty at times), Hines Ward and I am starting to see Patrick Willis enjoy the game like it should be enjoyed.
I think another one I will enjoy watching through his career is Bradford and as I throw up in my mouth I think Rodgers has that trait in him as well.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one that admired the way he plays the game.
I hated him against the Vikings but even if he was a Packer any football fan should see how much he loves the game.
Re: From Hating Favre to, hey, I'm Happy he's a Vike
We had to hate because he was a Packer. But any true footbl fan would say that they respected him as a player and what he brought to the NFL>
Re: From Hating Favre to, hey, I'm Happy he's a Vike
I hate Puckers, especially the good Puckers who help their team beat the Vikes.
I may marvel in there ability to play so well dressed in such ugly colors, but as a football fan I like watching.
I hated Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, Walter Payton when they would carve up the Vikes.
I loved it when they did it to other teams, especially the Puckers.
I would have loved to have them in purple.
As much as
I hated Favre in puker green, I'm now glad to see him in purple.
It's a much better fashion statement and seems to bring out fantastic play.
BTW this week I love Cutler and hope he sends as many presents to the Vikes as he did to SF.

The only way I survive:
I cheer for the jersey, not the man.
He's a hired gun and I have no problem with that, but the man himself, dont' respect a whole lot.

Hate is such a ugly word.
Try disdain.
Applies for me regardless of his uni.
As for me, how I cope.......I try to watch the OL and not the QB.
;)

Can't say I much liked him as a cheeseball, but definitely respected him as a player. He would make me nervous with time on the clock and the Pack marching down the field to try and beat us in the fourth.
Now the pack know how it feels to be on the other side. It's a beautiful thing man. Simply beautiful. :D
