Has anyone given you crap about liking Favre?

I wore my favre jersey the other day and a steelers fan (they are very cocky for a team that lost to the browns, raiders, and chiefs) came up to me and started talking about how I wasn't a true vikings fan because I liked Favre. His logic was that because Favre was on the Packers for so long and they are the vikings rivals, i should never cheer for favre because he WAS a packer. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Tell him he is a moron and an idiot. His team failed to make the playoffs and enjoy watching us.

His logic is stupid. Favre is a Viking now.

I had a really hard time becoming a Favre fan, but he won me over, and I get a ton of crap for it from Bear fans... but really, we know what the Bears have done this year, so every time someone says something to me, I just point out how crappy they are... even though they did beat us once this year

Tell the person while the vikings are making hotel reservations, the bears and many others are making tee times.

the logic of not cheering for someone that USED to play for a division rival is garbage. Players change teams all the time, no one is sacred. There are examples back to the AFL days.

Your first mistake was listening to a Stiller fan. I live 30 min from Pittsburgh and so I'm well aware that they may collectively be the dumbest fan base on the planet......

that said, I haven't had anyone give me shit, but a friend and I have reflected on the idea that I hated Favre for nearly two decades but now I love him.

That's just sports.

No one has given me any shit for liking him since 1) the ramifications for this would be grim; and 2) I don't like him.

However, I do flagellate myself daily in penance for cheering for the douchepickle to succeed.

A few people have and I couldn't care less about them.

In 2004, the Lakers signed probably the MOST hated player, for Laker fans, in the NBA to their roster.

Karl Malone.

That signing taught me to cheer for the front of the jersey and not give a flying crap about the back. If they are wearing Viking colors and performing to the best of their abilities, I DO NOT CARE.

I want the Vikings to win and I would sign Satan himself if I thought he could help.

I'll tell you this... the worst kind of fan is a Niners fan when their 2-0 up by a couple points with about 20 seconds left. Believe me, I live in the bay area, I would know. haha
