I loved watching him play as a kid....he is really deserving of the hall....so are some other vikings who have been left out...

Also over looked was Randall McDaniel should have been a 1st ballot HOFer!

He was the best guard in football for more than a decade, he played 15 years in the league and was a 12 time probowler.

Not just puzzling but also a disgrace of the highest order. The integrity of the HOF comes into question, imo.

honestly, the HOF usually needs some lobbying to get players recognized, especially the old timers. the new writers don't remember them. if someone is still recent in writers minds then they get the first votes. like marshal faulk will get selected as soon as he is available. people that are in the media get in faster too, except madden who it took forever.

I think when Page got in it about sealed Jim's fate. If we would have won a super bowl I imagine they both would have gotten in.

I don't know if they do, but the new writers should be expected to watch tape of the older players before they are allowed to vote.

The guy played next to one of the best defensive tackles of all time. He only accumulated two pro-bowls compared to Page's nine. Alan Page in one of only two defensive players to be named MVP; the other being L. Taylor.

So I think when you are most remembered for running a turnover back the wrong way against the 49ers, and you played with a guy who's shine was that much brighter then yours I think your going to have a rough go as far as the HOF goes.

I think when they see his name they think of productive over a long time. Frankly that isn't enough.

Sadly I don't ever see him getting in.

McDaniel wasn't on the ballot this year his first year is next year.
