Griffith signs, retires as a Viking

Griffith retires as a Viking
by Judd Zulgad

Former Vikings safety Robert Griffith signed a contract with the team on Wednesday for the purpose of retiring as a member of the franchise.

Griffith got his start with the Vikings in 1994 and played with the team until 2001. He signed as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State but went on to become a Pro Bowl selection after the 1999 season.

He was one of my favorite players, and was probably the best player on our D for a couple of years. Happy to hear he will retire a Viking

I thought he retired two years ago. *shrugs*

Great player that played with a lot of tenacity.
I think he was only like 5'8" or something like that.

I think it's always great when people who have a fav. team could retire as a member of that team.
That's why i hope guys like Birk, Sharper and Winfield all retire as a viking, they mean a lot to the team and are some of my personal favorites.

but thats not to say they want to retire with those teams. You might find it hard to believe but some might enjoy their shorter time at one club far more than a longer stay elsewhere.
Still lets not be too optimistic eh?

;D
