It was a game of firsts, and there were inevitable lessons for linebacker Chad Greenway and quarterback Tarvaris Jackson....

Re: Greenway, Jackson learn on the go
We have such a young team, with rising stars like Tarvaris and Chad, we are going to be a dang good football club for a long time.

I loved watching Greenway, that guy hustles.

I think we have a real shot at being a top 5 Defense this season.....
One thing I noticed about Chad, he is FAST, and a solid tackler....
I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

Greenway and Jackson are going to be good.
Then you add young guys like Griffin, Rice, AP and Robison; and you have a solid nucleus.
We are building through the draft and developing depth kind of like a certain AFC organization who has had some recent success.

Not to rain on everyones optimism parade as you all know how optimistic I usually am, however,..........
We need to be ready for the bad as well. Its gonna happen not because they are bad or the coaches suck but rather just because they are, like you mentioned, so young.
For instance, just let TJ throw an INT that costs us the game or Griff gets burned deep or Chad misses a tackle on a guy..........
The naysayers (who are pretty quiet this week) will come out of the woodwork to say I told you so.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Greenway, Jackson learn on the go
very tru, they will make mistakes.
But at least there is some light down this tunnel.
Last year was so frustrating and now at least we have some reason for optimism.
It is a long season though.

The Vikes offense just needs to LIMIT the mistakes and our Defense will keep us in the game...and maybe even win it for us with a score!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

I agree for the most part, however, they are simply going to need to produce more points than 10...AND, they need to limit mistakes. The Vikes offense just needs to LIMIT the mistakes and our Defense will keep us in the game...and maybe even win it for us with a score!
Said it many times this Summer, this is a building year...I have very high expectations for next year.
I am, however, cautiously optimistic about this year if, if they do the aforementioned.
I heard TJack on the NFL Sirius yesterday and he is ALL about Team...he is a humble guy.
As a Vikes fan, you have got to love Greenway, he's like a faster, more muscular Wally Hilgenberg...Chad is gonna be bringin' it as a Vike for many, many years.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent
