well he got off on his own and the announcers were saying he was walking around on the sideline so hopefully nothing serious

Local Channel 5 news just reported that Greenway left the dome after the game in shorts not on crutches with a back pack and not limping.

If this is accurate this could be great news as they would not have let him leave the dome walking if they were worried about it at all.

That was only one report and I have not heard any official report from the Vikes.

I'm sure they had it X-rayed at halftime.
Probally get a MRI on it tomorrow just to be safe.
The staff has been cautious with injuries so far during camp/preseason.

Very good point. He's got more use to us than a wedge buster.... you raise a good point...

Fox is reporting that he is scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow.

I hope that earlier report is accurate and he is not hurt seriously.

Vikings top pick Greenway injures left knee

MINNEAPOLIS (AUg. 14, 2006) -- Minnesota Vikings rookie linebacker Chad Greenway injured his left knee and was taken out of Monday night's preseason game.

Greenway, the team's first-round draft pick from Iowa who is the second-string weakside linebacker behind E.J. Henderson, was covering a kickoff in the first quarter against the Oakland Raiders. He broke through the wedge, but got hurt and limped off the field.

After he was examined on the trainer's table behind the bench, Greenway was able to get up and walk around the sideline, but the Vikings said he wouldn't return.
