If they're going to put Ragnar on the list of names, they should be including Hub Meeds.

As great as Hub was, he never came close to the level of notoriety that Ragnar has. If you ask 100 Vikings fans what the name of the person who mascotted as a Viking before Ragnar, I would guess that you would find less than 10 who could answer. If you asked a general NFL fan, you would find zero.

FWIW, Ragnar is officially employed by the Vikings. He has been the official mascot since August of 1994. Viktor is also listed as a mascot.

Which is why Moss will probably win. Which is a freaking joke.

IMHO, Alan Page is the winner here, with Ron Yary a close second.

I know im not that old and o never saw the purple people eaters or fran tarkenton play, but AD is quickly becoming one of the greatest of all time not only for this franchise but the nfl. He's already top 20 yardage wise in only 7 years!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Alan Page was pretty amazing. Did you know that dude was also the first (and maybe only) NFL player to complete a marathon. This from a DL'men.

I ran Grandma's Marathon back in high school and Page was in it. I beat him

Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament

No matter how things ended there is no other player who has ever been a Viking that singlehandedly changed the game and the way teams prepared for us like Moss did.

That being said if I were to pick the player who was the best at his position for a long time as well as a positive for the community I would throw the name Randall McDaniel into the mix.
