    Great Viking-related literature

I got a book for Christmas that I've just started reading. It's great reading.

"A Tradition Of Purple: An Inside Look At The Minnesota Vikings", by Jim Bruton, with a foreward by the one and only Bud Grant.

It's a great book so far. Jim Bruton tried out as a kicker three times for the Vikings back in the mid-to-late 1960's/early 1970's, and he's been a season ticket holder for over 40 years. He gives a great inside look at the Vikings franchise, how they became a family, and everything involved in building the team from the ground up. I recommend it highly.

I got that tradition of purple book when we were up in Minneapolis for the Packers game. I've been reading it off and on since then and it's a really good book to learn about the history of the vikings and get a sort of insiders perspective. The community service chapter was really telling of what kind of an organization these guys run. I would recommend it to anyone on here.
