Man that's a tough break for Goodspeed & the Vikings.
The question now is, will they use Jimmy K. as a fullback again? The only other FB on the roster besides Richardson is Steven Jackson.
I would believe so

Re: Goodspeed Done for the Season
Richardson will be huge for us. I was never completely sold on Goodspeed.
I hope Arrested Developer was kidding. Otherwise he is clueless.
There will be several other FB's available as backups by July.I m Watching You- You may not see me, you may not hear me, but I m watching you...

Re: Goodspeed Done for the Season
Most of the better fullbacks in the league are well into their 30's
Lorenzo Neal,William Henderson,Tony Richardson etc. all of these have 9+ years of service, and considered the best at what they do.
T-Rich, leading the way into that leftside,it will truly be a joy to watch.
Anyone that doesn't think that, has been smoking something funny. :smack:

Vikings | Goodspeed tears ACL
Mon, 15 May 2006 19:34:55 -0700
Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings FB Joey Goodspeed (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee Saturday afternoon, May 13, and almost certainly won't be available to play this season. Head coach Brad Childress said only that Goodspeed "hurt his knee," but a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the diagnosis.

Oh...scratch one FA pickup. Let's see what Richardson/Kleinsasser (whichever one we put in) can do.

Re: Goodspeed Done for the Season
That's terrible. I was looking forward to Goodspeed and seeing what he could do. It really is a shame that he got hurt before he could even do anything for the team as far as field wise. But at the same time, I know Richardson is a solid football player. We should be fine. Just no more "out for the season" training camp injuries, please.

Enough people have pointed out that Richardson is probably the best FB in the NFL, but he is also one of the class players of the NFL and is respected by everybody that I have heard speak about him. So maybe you should learn something about the players on the Vikings before you start post about them! What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Goodspeed Done for the Season
wel i wouldnt put all that on richardson, some of it maybe, but to say larry johnsons season was atributed to tony richardson alone? you think KC would have let him go if that were true?
Look, all im saying is that hes pretty old and run down, hes not a kicker, theres a lot of wear and tear, the other FB you mentioned, yeah there good, but how long are they going to hold up? one more maybe 2 more years? and FBs arent really used in college as much anymore.
and what exactly makes a good FB, a good blocker and a good runner or just one of those traits? if blocking is the most important, why not put a lineman in there, 300 pounds of blocking immortality crashing through! lets see Ryan Cook play FB!
