    Re: the good news

So Im a new Vikings fan But I see some parallels to OUR sooners of 98-2000... John Blake was the coach after Schnellenberger here at OU he was a great recruiter but a bad sidelines coach 2 years of Blake and in comes Stoops He says He is going to win with what he has, he wants to be held accountable win now he said on his first day on campus, 04 was a 7-5 type season 2000 was a national championship But Bob did it with two things Blakes Players and a Juco QB named Josh Hueple...what Im saying is The vikes look like Maybe a QB and a little tweaking here and there is all that keeps them from being a contender..so basically nothin new same ol same ol....I shouldnt post it but Ive spent time typin this drivel so post it I shall...O yea the topic was good news so thats my good news

    WAS @ MIN
    MIN @ DEN

No prognostications, just happy there are this many games left this season.
A lot can happen and has happened in the second half of the season.
I would rather remain excited about the upcoming games than start reading mock drafts in Oct.
    Yup.
Offseason is too long, might as well keep cheering for our team!!
FA class this year sucked, everyone knows that yet somehow people think we should have pulled a QB out of our jiggly buttocks.
With the cap going up every year, FA will likely continue to be pretty thin pickings.
Hey BallDinner, we traded for Holcomb, isn't he a vet?
Please tell me who we should have signed, and why they would have chosen us over where they ended up, and why they'd be better with our "equipment," than the ones that are struggling now.

Man I sure hope he's wrong about the locker room!
During the preseason, everyone was on board with the Chiller and our new, TEAM attitude!!

Good news is that our defense keeps games close, and seems like it could be dominant if it didn't have to play so much ball every game.
    Running game is huge!
And, we've got half a season left...sure, SD, @GB, @NYG look like tough games, most likely losses.
But, the rest of our home games all look winnable:
OAK, DET, CHI definitely, maybe not WAS.
And, I think we can beat SF on the road too...they have the worst offense in the NFL, and some serious injuries on Defense.
At DEN is a possibility too...they are allowing alot of points right now, and are the last defense vs. the run, our strength.

So, IF we can get those wins, we end up somewhere between 6-10 to 8-8, with most of the wins coming late in the season, and hopefully, giving the franchise something to build on going into next year.

    Jeff Garcia.
WCO QB, and probably would have come here.
We have a good defense and he would have made a difference on offense.

    Oh well, wishful thinking.
Chilly was just too [s]prideful, and [/s] confident in his system and his QB of the future to make a move to benefit our team short term.

Garcia was to be sure, the cream of the crop...but, good chance he would have picked Gruden (a proven offense) over ours anyway...unless, we broke the bank for him.
But, then again, Curtis chose better odds over more money, and there's a chance Garcia would have done the same.

    Proof Please.

If he was so confident in his QB's why did he want another one?

If he was so confident in his QB's why did he draft one?

If he is so pridefull so as not to admit he made a bad player decision why isn't Hicks starting anymore?
    A so called Chiller guy.
If he is so pridefull why isn't McMuffin on the team anymore?

Do you really think that coach in this "Win Now" league would be that arrogant that he would think he would/could win with a raw talent like TJ?

    Comeon.
That is getting to be the lamest cliche' used on here and yet, no one can give me any proof that they didn't at least talk to other QB's.

Fact is, they could have talked to several, however, because this organization is so closed lipped and doesn't give things away we don't know, all we can do is speculate.

    Yup!
There was a time when you would move up one or two rows a year, if at all.
The past two years I have moved up a helluva lot!

My biggest decision to make this year is whether to move down to the lower level or not.
My goal has always been to be row 1, second level.
I love the view, and it is easy to get in and out of your seats.
I am only a couple of rows away right now, so I know I could get it next year.
But now the wife wants to move to the lower level...

    Re: the good news

All I have to say is to all the WCO lovers out there, where is the yards after the catch?
The statistic of Sydney Rice catching only 1 pass in 2 games before Philly is mind boggling!
He is the best passing catching hands that we have.
We should be going to him much more than we do.
Do you all realize that we have the same record as the ridiculous Bengals!!
This is not acceptable no matter how you break the numbers game down or we have averaged to lose by an average of type numbers.
You can break the numbers down as much as you want, at the end of the game, it only matters who won.
Even if it isn't pretty, it only matters who won.
Does New England, Indianapolis, Dallas, Pittsburg and the like, have to break numbers down?
They don't have to rely on luck, they go out and get it done.
Stop calling slant throws, side line routes, and throw the ball on first down!
You are predictable when you run the ball on first right up the middle on almost every first down.
When all you can do is run the ball, all teams have to do is stop your run and your done.
They know that you can't throw.
Shaincoe needs to stop holding people to stop drives!
You can talk what ever you want about how the system is designed.
It is designed to do exactly what it has been doing which is losing.
I believe that this is what Antoine was talking about before training camp started.
You cannot rely on our defense to pull us out every game.
In the Dallas game, Troy Aikman said it best, at some point you have to start taking chances down the field, this is a league of a lot of yards and alot of points.
When are we going to get our share of the points.
I told everyone that this is Brads year of break through, or fall through.
Well it is his fall through.
    Get Rid of the WCO.
The dink and dunk stuff went out in the 90's.
Get your act together or plan on being in the top 5 draft pick.
    Which is for the losers.

    I know see the light.

We need to get this info to the Chiller so he can quite being so arrogant and big headed about wanting to loose.

    Again, this is great news.

wth is so bad about getting an early pick this year... im almost to the point i would rather see a bad year than more mediocrity. if we get one more real good draft class were there....
