    Re: the good news

    Upcoming games:

    SD @ MIN

    MIN @ GB
    OAK @ MIN
    MIN @ NYG
    DET @ MIN
    MIN @ SF
    CHI @ MIN
    WAS @ MIN
    MIN @ DEN

No prognostications, just happy there are this many games left this season.
A lot can happen and has happened in the second half of the season.
I would rather remain excited about the upcoming games than start reading mock drafts in Oct.

We don't play the Rams or the Dolphins. Thank goodness.

    Very very very true.

Not that there is a lot of good news however in the 5 games we have lost the total of points we have lost by is only 30 total.
We lost by 3 pts twice, 7 points twice and 10 points once.
This is less than the points that Washington lost by today in a single game.
We are not being blown out like the Dolphins for instance.
I am trying to keep this in mind even though I am somewhat depressed about our season so far.
A couple of lucky bounces and we are a .500 team.

    Try to keep the faith.
    ;D
We are very, very close to being a good team.
Unfortunately, like I said in another thread, we have been very close for a season and a half now, and we don't seem to be able to cross that last hurdle...

But anything can happen in the last half of the season...

We shure started out like we were on a mission....... Then we just fizzled. No pressure on McNabb, who picked us apart. We had some fight in us the second half, we just can't get that offense moving with at all. As long as this team keeps fighting eventually we'll get a win...

    i hope. :'(
This is not supposed to be a good news topic?¿(I know it´s hard to find something to cheer of this team rite now....)
Not if you try real real real real real FRICKEN hard my friend.
    ;D

Other than the whole point discussion here are some that might be of interest:

    a.
Kluwe should make the Pro Bowl.
He is a machine. I thought this was gonna be a weak point.
    b.
Longwell has got the ball deep with relatively good hang time and has been pretty reliable on kicks.
Again thought that was gonna be a weak point.
    c.
Appears to be very little drop off with respect to stopping the run after Leslie took over.
Teams still gotta pass to beat us.
    d. Not sure about now, but we lead or lead the league in rushing.
    e. The team hasn't quit on the coaching staff yet.
I saw at least 2 players make great plays/get hurt/and come right back and play the rest of the game (B-wade/Leber).
    f.
All the young guys are getting reps (wish Rice and Allison would get more).
    g. Except for Rufus we haven't had any major injuries to key players this year.

    h. Herrera might be a good compliment to Hutch at RG.

    i.
We can run the ball to both sides pretty effectively.
    j.
Pre-snap Penalties are way down this year.
    k. Our D has only given up something like 3 or 4 rushing TD's (or there abouts).
    l.
The press is only picking on us for Football/on field related issues.

I'd do the whole alphabet, however, then I would have to defend all them later as someone will say something to the contrary i.e., Sure we haven't allowed very many rushing TD's cause everyone just throws passing TDs.
    ;D

    Re: the good news

I don't know if Bryan Baldinger knows some inside stuff, but on the Tony Bruno show this morning, he said that the Vikings locker room is about to explode. He said, "To go through the offseason & not trying to acquire an experienced QB is a shame. This locker room is going to explode, real soon"

And even if the season is "over", each individual game is worth celebrating and getting excited about.

And yet we see no indication of that on the sidelines during the games or in any interviews by the players.

    Face it.
The press and all the haters would love nothing more than to have that nail to start nailing the lid shut on the ole Chiller my friends.

I like Baldy (if for nothing other than his nickname) however, just someone trying to fan a fire where there is no smoke to see if he can get something going.
