Many of them have flitted windows. It is not very noticeable unless you are close. Most large cities, such as New York and Toronto, have legislation in place for all new construction to have some kind of measure.

What kind of birds live downtown Minneapolis? The only birds you see downtown Duluth are sea rats and pigeon's. They are both pests as far as I am concerned.

I like that solution. From the inside, people won't be able to see the tiny dots from a distance so it really won't make much of a difference. From the outside, they can make some kind of fritted Viking pattern.

Plus it will give kids something to do when they are bored. You could play connect the dots for days with all of that glass.

    lol.

Nice try. From the seats you wouldn't be able to see any of the dots.

Who said anything about from the seats? Won't they be visible in the lobby and in the new bigger and better concourses?

Fritted and patterned glass is an excellent way to make windows bird-safe. To be most effective the frit must be on the outside.

Any pattern will do. The key is to have openings no larger than 2" horizontally or 4" vertically -- any clear area larger will be attractive to songbirds.

There are selective uses of patterns on the in-side that can be effective when reflections of trees or sky are not a concern.

So if we won't see these huge dots or patterns on the window from the seats, I guess we won't see any of the bird shit on the roof either.
