Give Brian Robison a chance at starting

I don't think we have the need at DE like everyone keeps saying.
Robison seemed to be very productive for the short time he was on the field each game.
Plus he now has a year under his belt in the NFL.
I think he could have great numbers if he was given a chance at starting.
He is very quick, never stops, and his upper body strength is phenominal.
    Just my opinion
    though.
    What do you guys think?

He kind of died off towards the end of the season

And was a good change of pace guy

Personally I think he was a good spark.. But needs alot of work

He COULD start one day.. Probably not next year though

If we don't add anyone I think we will go with Edwards and Udeze at ends

I like this guy and think he will do good next year.
I don't worry to much about his drop off towards the end of the season.
Alot of people pooo poooo it
but I do believe the rookies hit the wall at some point.
    That is probably what happened.

He definately has the motor to be a good rusher and who knows, maybe he will be the guy next year.
I still say you drop Erasmus and spend some CAP on a whiley old vet.

he didn't "die off" by any means at the end of the season lol.
the thing that Robison has always been criticized about is that he isn't the best DE at stopping the run, altho he is quick to get to the QB, which is why like you said he's a good change of pace guy.
His numbers seemed to be down towards the end of the season because he was on the field way more because of Edwards' suspension, Scott out (all season), and James being re-injured.

Thats why right now the best option is Udeze with James and Mitchell playing relief, and Salt and Pepper on the other side (Edwards & Robison)

Robison is an incredible athlete...check out his accomplishments in High School and at the University of Texas.
Personally, I think Robison brings alot to the table.
The coaches need to ensure that they are deploying him appropriately; meaning, matchups, timing (late in the halves is probably better), and schemes.
Robison is a high motor guy, loves the game, makes plays, and, has a bright future.
It's important in today's NFL to have players that can exploit the weaknesses of the man across the line of scrimmage...what I mean by that is Robison may be a perfect player against one OT, but may struggle against another.
He is not yet at the point where he is similarly effective vs each opponent.
He can expoit come, then has problems vs others.
Has a great burst, non-stop motor, don't necessarily agree that he has "incredible upper body strength."
His is a game of speed and, arguably, perserverance...he simply never gives up.
He is a major reason I believe the Draft Class of 2007 will ultimately end up being the best Vikes draft ever.
Sky is the limit for our man Robison IMO.
Starting is not the most important thing...enabling players to make plays is.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

He does have a chance at starting, it's called training camp.
If he can't win the job he doesn't deserve the chance to start.

There isn't a person on the team that doesn't get a chance at starting.
If he can't rise from the rubble, he won't start.
I like him though, shows promise.

And that is one thing that Childress has been pretty adamant about in training camp.
Everybody has a chance to earn a starting spot in camp.

Re: Give Brian Robison a chance at starting

If he comes in and shows promise in training camp and preseason he will start. It really is that simple. I think he looked very good on pass-rushing downs in the early part of the season, but he seemed to tire out (as a lot of rookies do). Also, I don't know that his speed will be as big of a deal on a regular basis, his speed rush is really strong when it is a change of pace, but I think he needs to add a little more of a strength rush before he can be an effective every down player in the NFL.
