Breaking down Sunday's San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings game (1 p.m., FOX).
Three Things You Should Care About
1. Does anyone in San Francisco have the creativity to draft an offensive game plan capable of cracking the Vikings' defensive line?
2. The man between Adrian Peterson and pay-dirt: Patrick Willis.
3. You'll be watching two of the game's preeminent game managers. Can either one shake that image?
=Z=
Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Game of the Week: Niners-Vikings
very good article, nice breakdown.
Not sure if i agree with this though.
Gimmick player?Percy Harvin: If you've benefited from his two-touchdown start, then gather your winnings and walk away. Harvin's the type of gimmick player whom Singletary will gameplan for (in between marathon "Stop Peterson" sessions). Don't overplay the hot hand.
Nothing gimmicky about being a total stud.

Out of all 32 teams, mike vick is the biggest 'gimmick player' today.
Harvin might be 2nd, but you won't see dogs bark when percy's on the scene. The ribbon is the 'Gulf War Ribbon'.

He's got elite speed, great hands, and awesome strength, and has shown the ability to pick up the 3rd down conversion.
What else would you want out of a WR?

The guy gets yards.
Gimmick
plays are when you try to use a player at something he isn't good at.
JMHO.

JK, still cracks me up how they have to resort to the Wildcat so much to move the ball and people still think that cat is a good QB.
Wonder if we will see them move to one of their youngsters this year?

Re: Game of the Week: Niners-Vikings
The article didn't mention much about Gore.
So I will.
When I hear the commentators on the NFL shows on ESPN, NFLN, and Sirius, they all talk about the impact of Gore.
They go back to his two long runs in the last game and are just amazed and translate that to having a great game vs the Vikes.
I mentioned this in a previous thread and I will say it again.
Those runs were MISTAKES and can be attributed to number 27 for the Hawks.
The safety too the wrong lines and missed his chance to tackle Gore.
One of those TDs would have happened the other one shouldn't have happened.
The one where the ref was in the way and #27 couldn't take the line he initially started on.
The other run for a TD I will give that one to Gores ability to deceive the defender.
We have held some of the best runners in the league to not many yards in the past three years.
Willis or no Willis on the other side of AP, I would go with AP over Gore in this match up this week.
That is my take.
OK, now that I have taken the Gore excitement out of this game, what do the Niners have left.
Hill and Issac Bruce.
My question is this, has our running game been that bad or have he just been baiting teams into thinking they can run on us so they won't want to come out and pass the whole game.
I would rather give up the best run D title if it means that we don't get passed on so bad that we become the worst pass D.
It is a little bit of give and take.

On a side note, did you see the NFC Playbook last night?
Baldy broke down how the Lions gashed us last week.
LB'rs not staying in their lanes.
Lets hope that got fixed this week or we might see a few "Mistake" runs. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I just don't understand it.
I don't think that our D is bad, I just don't know why they have been disrespectful of the two teams we have played so far.
Oh ya, because it was the Browns and the Lions.
They have to stay in their lanes like you said when they play Gore.
It will be a team D effort to stop him.
If one player breaks down he will take one the distance.

?
Why would they? They win with Chad
Chad is a very very very accurate passer.. Not an elite QB.. But I never hear him mentioned in those name
He is a good QB
