At full strength, defense holds much promise

The Vikings never had their full allotment of expected starters on the field at the same time last year. They still had a top-10 defense overall and the top run defense....

Defense wins championships, and if we can stay healthy we can finish a top 5 D. We may have some legal hurdle's, with the WW, but a healthy return of EJ, a full season of MW will make our pass defense better.

It's nice to read something else beside's 9 zillion pages about BF.

Let the media pounce on the Favre story and how much he could improve the Vikings offense. If Minnesota is heading to the Super Bowl following the 2009 season, it will be in large part due to the continued dominance of the defense, which has gone from one of the league’s worst statistically speaking just a couple of years ago to one of the best. If they can hit on all cylinders at full strength, which they never had the chance to do last year, the Vikings could be the team to beat in the NFC in 2009.
    Amen!! ;D

If the vikings make the superbowl, it will be the combination of our dominant defense, our stud RB and now a legitimate QB.
I'll admit Favre can't singlehandedly turn us into a superbowl team, but this is a good situation we're in.
He can use what we have in place, and just steer the ship.
So far we've just had a drunken sailor, that sometimes heads in the right direction, but most of the time just goes around in circles.

I hope Williams win their case... that will hurt but I still think we could handle games without them but it won't be the same thats for sure.

I think if we stay healthy we have a chance to be the best run defense in NFL History. I think Tyrell "Mini EJ" Johnson will actually help improve that area even more so.

A better offense with fewer stalled drives that keeps the defense off the field longer and gives them better field position will make the defensive ranking go up.

I would not change a thing about our Defense.

The biggest non-change is the return of the same D-coordinator from last year, the turnover the last few years can't be good.

I'm struggling to think of something I would change, simply because they should always strive to get better.
I'd love for them to blitz Antoine a bit more out of the slot, because of all the good things he did with that last year (specifically the Panthers and Saints games).

And I want EJ to stay on the field at all times.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

More gang tackling and stripping... I don't know about you, but every time I see the 2nd or 3rd Bear hit AD I'm screaming at the TV, "just go down AD, fall down!!"
The Vikes cause fumbles with hard hits, the Bears aggressively seek out the ball against a helpless ball carrier.
To do that you need lots of people on the runner and a more aggressive attitude then I've seen out of the Vikes.
The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.
