    Frustrated...

I dont understand why you go into a season with 4 wr knowing rice is out knowing harvin is up and down, and then keep 4 TE's and cut mills (down the field TE) which is probably the 2nd best of all of them..so now here we are....0-2....percy and rice out...just missed on a 6-5 230lbs receiver, and facing the lions

I totally get why you dont trade for jackson(though i would have gave up the 3rd rounder) i get that you dont want to pay someone a ton...that has to sit out 4 games then also give the team a 2nd and 3rd..that makes sense..with the long termers needing contracts..but the other stuff above makes little to no sense at all...

1 more thing, i seen more 2-3 TE sets with dugan on the field then i have ever last weekend... its pretty simple if u want him on the field pull tahi...make dugan your FB...keep shianco..

yes its early and im just frustrated with this crappy start but with everyone that need to be resigned, this is not the way to start the year...get it fixed vikes GET IT FIXED!!! or find someone who can!

Have you considered that the maybe the root of the problem is really poor pass protection? Our offensive line, especially, is weak.

I'm thinking that opposing teams don't have to blitz because they know their front four can put sufficient pressure on Favre and that makes things easier for their secondary to smother our receivers.

I see people blaming Favre and I see people blaming the receivers and I see people wailing about how the loss of Sydney Rice has crippled the team.

Can't buy it.....can't see any evidence for it.

Naw.....the root problem is the offensive line.

That's where it all starts and it's the same problem we had when the Saints crushed Favre in last year's big game.

I agree.....O Line is very questionable in pass blocking but seem to be making progress in run blocking .... AD had a pretty good day. Favre on the other hand has not had much time to throw to the limited receivers we have. With this bunch of receivers he really needs more time.

    Re: Frustrated...

AP actually had a great day!!!

But, most of those 145 yards came on his talent for breaking tackles in the open field.

In other words, his offensive line gave him very few holes, but when he got them he made the most of it by breaking long runs......that's how he got 145 yards.

Most of the time he was getting stopped at the line of scrimmage.......when he got a hole there he made a lot of yards on his own talent, but he didn't get many holes (if he had gotten a lot of holes he'd have gotten 300 yards and four TDs).

And a lot of Favre's problems could be attributed to the fact that his receivers were well-covered because no blitz was required to put a lot of pressure on him.

Basically, the Vikings were hit with a perfect storm and did not adjust to it.

I'm not ready to bail just yet. I agree with Infidel that the major problem is our O line. If you see the "Playbook" on NFL.com you will see that we have some major problems on the O line. McKinney is worthless, he is slow, doesn't use his hands properly and his foot work guarantees he won't show up on "Dancing with the Stars" anytime soon.

I think we fared better when they moved Loadholt over to LT and brought in Cook for RT. Yeah, he will continue to make rookie (2nd year) mistakes, but his attitude is so much better than McKinney it is like night and day.

I would love to have just one game where the commentators make an issue out of how well Favre is being protected.

"Gee Chris, it seems Brett has all day back there. If you give him that much time he is going to pick you apart!".

    Yeah, that would be nice.

I watched the NFL playbook too. Kind of eye opening, I knew our oline was no where good as advertised but that really showed it. Imagine what Brett could do with good protection.

    Exactly.

I'd love to hear it, too! We would be Superbowl bound!!!

    Re: Frustrated...

While I am not going to argue with anyone about the O line... Favre made some senial decisions on Sunday.

The second interception was a pass decided before the ball was snapped regardless of the CB attached to his receiver at the hip.

The deep ball was clear double Safety coverage the whole way and was a pure prayer when a prayer play was unnecessary.

More time would be beneficial, but I am beginning to question the man's decision making. Over-confidence? Just plain mistakes? I know he is smarter than this so I am more confused than pissed off.

I haven't had a chance to see this weeks NFC Playbook, but last week they showed good stuff out of our OL on it.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
