Friday Meeting
2nd Thoughtshttp://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/26/mort-favre-is-having-second-thoughts/
Whats up with that? pWin or lose, quarterback Brett Favre already is having second thoughts about his decision to return for one more season, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Re: Friday Meeting
Favre will probably give the team one more chance with the Jets......and maybe only part of that game.
He deserves far better protection than he's been getting.
It was slightly improved today, but still not what he needs to play at a high level of excellence. It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Re: Friday Meeting
I can see how this went.
Zygi sees the team under performing. He tells Childress to call a veteran meeting to tell them to step up and become more vocal leaders or some crap like that.
In meeting Childress says "we have to make the most of this year because some of you won't be back next year" (looking at Pat and Brett). One player says the meeting was kind of awkward to a reporter and mentions what Childress said. Whole thing is blown out of proportion by the media and suddenly there is another schism in the locker room. This is how the media works. They want things to be juicier than they really are.

Re: Friday Meeting
That's a good analysis and probably on the mark.

Re: Friday Meeting
Jason Whitlock of FOXSports.com has speculated that Favre could land on injured reserve if/when the Vikings chances of making it to the postseason have been destroyed.

FYI, Childress said "most" of you won't be back next year. Not "some". Jimmy K. & Winfield would be two others that could also fit into that mold.I can see how this went.

I don't know how many veterans were there, but when you say "most", that typically means more than half, which IMO, would sound awkward to several of those veterans who aren't near retirement age & that's quite a damn chunk of the team.

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like next year their will be a huge change on our roster and the start of a rebuilding year.PurplePeopleEaters wrote:

I wish he'd said, "some of us."
