Really? It has worked more often than not. The fact is, the Vikings always have huge holes to fill and usually fill them with second rate players despite having the money to get a very good player. I for one am ready for this team to win a SB, if you are not, then that's on you. I refuse to sit back and watch my team be the laughing stock of the NFL. BTW, I am a huge Viking fan living right in Green Bay. Do I need to say more?

It's not as simple as just adding a bunch sexy high profile FA's and voila SB here we come. You need the right guys, you need a lot of them and you need to know how to use them.

Revis looks like he is going to NE for a 1yr $12M contract. How does that help us? I have no elusions of SB next year and I would much prefer building a team for the long run while the new staff starts working the pieces.

At this point, the coaching staff hardly knows what they have to work with on the current roster. Just film, profiles and advice.

Give it at least a year to start forming before sinking a lot of long term big dollar contracts. Until then load the team up with high value guys that have room to grow. Take Seattle's and San Fran's lead in the last few years and find profile players to fill most of the roster before going out on the market and looking for the last remaining couple pieces.

And to those wondering about the salary cap dollars being spent. Just sit back and wait, it will get used up, just not the way you expect. Hopefully it will be done in a way that doesn't hurt us down the road, when it will do more good.

I am happy with how the Vikings have handled the free agency thus far. Have signed solid players and made improvements at our most needed positions. LB is looking like #1 pick for us and hoping Kalil Mack is there. Going out and throwing way to much money at the biggest names in free agency does not make for a good free agency.

I have zero complaints about free agency. Slick Rick and the rest of the FO have brought in some solid free agents and resigned our own players at key positions.

Don't get me wrong - somebody will find something to complain about... they always do. But I'm fairly happy right now.

No one realizes that we have be "building thru the draft" since 2010 and we have nothing but a couple of sub 5 win seasons to show for it. Well, that can APs unbelievable season. With 40 million in cap we got a lot of role players for star money. I know we all are drinking the koolaid but we just paid an unknown fan favorite...top DE money. We paid a good DL( read not great) top DT money.

I am content with what he have but please stop trying to sell it like you this has been an amazing offseason. We have gone to the dance with the ugly girl. She won't break your heart but no one is envying you either.

We have had a fantastic offseason ... there is no reason to see it as anything else.

    1. We have brought in a completely new structure from head coach down ... something that had not been done and had needed done here for quite a while.

    2. We did not OVERPAY for Michael Johnson (an older version of a player that Zimmer clearly sees as not that much better than Griffen) or Verner.

    3. We maybe could have made the splash and went after a Revis or Talib, but those guys have not won dick in the league. Overpaid cornerbacks do not help teams win Super Bowls, overpaid quarterbacks do. I am very content with the depth we are adding at CB.

    4. Linval Joseph is a FANTASTIC signing. Being excited for that is completely fair. He is a VERY GOOD player and a major upgrade.

    5. We have CERTAINLY upgraded NT and CB already ... That is something to feel very good about heading into a draft where we can go a bunch of different ways.

    6. They are not done filling holes yet ... it will continue up to, through and after the draft. Zimmer has a clear idea what he wants done and Slick Rick is working with him instead of against him.

I love the coaching change but we have retained a lot of assistance coaches from the previous regime. Yet I won't argue, I am excited about the new coaches.

Not quite sure how you can be happy we didn't over pay for MJ but think Griffen was a good price. Per reports, MJ didn't want to play here. He played in the South and is from the South. He wanted to play for a team close to home. This doesn't me we didn't over pay for a player that is very unproven. They are tons of physically gifted guys that never get it together. We are paying Griffen top DE money because he is athletic and we expect him to become a force. Looking on the outside in, I don't see it. I see a guy that can rack up sacks but disappears in games. I am talking about when he is in and strictly at the DE position. I hope I am wrong but he is not the game changer his contract illustrates. However we needed a ass rusher and we got one. (Grade: B)

Didn't want Revis, would have liked Talib. Not sure why them winning is considered a measure of worth. I would like to point out that both guys have been to a Championship game, he highlight of our past 30 years. Revis Twice. None of this has anything to do with talent. Talib didn't want to come here so I don't expect that to be an issue. However, we have done this dance before. Damanged CBs brought in in the offseason for about 4 seasons now. Names like, Chris Carr, Bowman still haunt my dreams. Remember those? I am not asking for SuperStars...but I am asking for talent. Cap in the slot is a great signing but we gave him 5 million a year. I think it is high but we are not a desired location and this time and we had to pay to play. Cox is a good signing but we are picking close to the bottom of the barrel.

He is not a very good player. He is a talent. Disappears in games but he is young and has potential. We badly needed a NT and I am glad that we addressed the position. Lets not act like LJ is the 2nd coming of Sam Adams, he isn't he is a run stuffer who has issues with penetration and who was surrounded by some of the best passrushers in the game (JJP, Tuck etc). Not mad at price or signing.

We fixed NT. We have not fixed CB. We play in a division that had us in nickle 75% of the time last season ( Hence why Erin didn't want to play LOLB, no playing time) We have addressed our slot CB but we still have a major need on the outside. I like Robinson out there but I don't want to go in there with only him as an option. We did that last year with him in the slot and we broke team records( not a good thing). Would love to add DRC, who should come at a lower cost.

We were horrible last season our roster is falling to peices despite the "focus on the draft" All we have are the first rounders and some 2nd rounders that we drafted. We have no debt at anything. That falls on the GM and I am telling you guys he is stifling this team.
