Free agency, wins won't change stadium's pricetag

Free agency, wins won't change stadium's pricetag

The Vikings enjoy broad support, no matter their record or lineup. It's the $950 million they need that isn't so popular.

Drag the feet longer, and the price of the the materials will increase.
I didn't need to read the article to understand that one.
China, India and Brazil are taking the supply of steel and other goods and the goods are now costing us more. $47
Million might be on the conservative side.
It will only get worse as they speed up their building efforts.

Wilf is still willing to kick in 250 Million.
Even Indy got one built.
I would like to know how they worked out their deal with the people and politician of Indiana.

We could always outsource the design to India, the fabrication to China and the assembly to undocumented temporary guests ( Kinder, gentler UffDa term ) to keep the cost down

I'd like to tell you, but no political discussions are allowed here.

The fact is they will have to raise taxes to come up with the remaining $700,000,000.00. I don't think now is the right time to raise taxes. Plus that is the amount it would cost if we paid it all up front, most likely it will be paid for with bonds, which have to be paid back with interest so the price tag is really much higher. A lot of people can not afford higher taxes right now.(kind a like the gas tax that we can't afford).
I do think they should try to get something done, but with out raising taxes.

ps. costs of everything go up over time, it's called inflation. Usually the tax revenues increase with it(except we are in a recession so probably not right now.)

Minnesota has a large budget deficit right now.. which they're trying to sort out without hurting emergency services, road care, or schools... it doesn't look good for a stadium deal right now, which is really really depressing
