Thinking & doing are two different things. Wait & see.

Many, (I'd say most) of the people on PP.O, at the time Childress was hired, liked what they heard from him too.

He talked the talk, but never even achieved his first objective.
I seem to remember a number of members who weren't too happy we hired an offensive co-ordinator who didn't call the plays for his offense.
We're talking about Childress, not Bevell. If you're eluding to the fact that Bevell, whom Childress hired, didn't call the plays, that wasn't known until the start of the season. Childress was hired in January, leaving several months of fans liking him cleaning house, doing what he was doing & salivating over the upcoming season under the new Ticeless regime.
What he said was many people questioned the hiring of Childress considering that during his time as OC for philly he was not even calling the plays. That job was done by Andy Reid. I didn't see anywhere where he even mentioned Bevell in his post.

There were those that didn't like that about him (some had to be educated about it) but many here were happy as a pig in shit that Childress was here, Tice (meathead as they called him) was gone & finally there was a head coach out there that would instill much needed "discipline" in the organization.

Keep in mind to that while some didn't like the fact that Reid called the plays, many gave him credit for coming up with many of those plays. Furthermore, Childress still was an OC on another team, which some here felt was still a big step up over promoting Tice from OL coach.

I'd say both of you are accurate. I do recall alot of people happy that Childress was coming, because they thought he's run a tight ship and keep order. They were also leery, since he was not allowed to call plays in Philly, how effective could he be? Turns out he could NOT keep the team in line, and he was even worse at running a kickass offense.

There were those that were leery, but still behind Childress. Many of them believed that he did a lot for McNabb (cough QB guru).

I became leery when the replacement coaches he was hiring were "buddies & pals" of his & not coaches with great qualifications & even more so when some of the players referred to him as "Little Hitler".

That is what I was referring to. I thought, at the time and still do, that Tice got screwed. The orginazation had gone on the cheap. Players AND coaches were let go to save the team money. Tice had to work with a skeleton coaching crew. Then we hire a coach whose prior boss didn't have enough faith in him as an OC to allow him to call the plays during the game, and he was given carte blanche to hire a staff with no limits. Don't get me wrong, after the hire, I got on board because he was our head coach, but I wasn't looking through rose colored glasses either. It wasn't until after 1 1/2 years(?) of watching his ineptitude that I began calling for his head. I could be wrong, but I believe if Tice had been given the same opportunity to spend money as Childress, he would have produced far better results. There is no way to prove that, it is just my opinion. And I also thought the love boat was not much of a big deal. Most of the guys I know would have been in the same boat as the Viking players had they been in the samme situation. As a matter of fact a lot of us have, we just don't have the media making a story of everything we do. Anyway, those years are past us. I do like the hire of Leslie. I also like most of his hires, sans OC, and hopefully he,(Musgrave) proves me wrong.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

For me, the jury is still out on Frazier. I will wait and see before saying I like him or not.
    We're bringing purple back.
