Should we be worried about Smoot constantly getting dinged up? Or is this normal stuff?
If I remember right he was playing through injury last season as well. I can;t blame him for the neck strain he suffered which kept him out most of practice. He was just bulking up for the better of the team when this happened. He will step up once the season starts. He's got a lot of heart.
Besides we still have BWill just in case. I am also hearing good things about our 7th round pick Adrian Ward.
I believe I mentioned this when everyone was orgasming upon his arrival. He is easily injured.
He's not known as having more injuries than what's to be expected on average for the position in this league. He missed only 1 game in each of the past two years, played all 16 the year before that, and played 14 his rookie year (no info on injury that I can find, he probably just didn't start the first two games of his rookie year). So 2-4 games in 4 seasons is not bad at all.
Even if he does get dinged, he's gonna stay on the field unless the coaches prevent him. Last year in the Skins-Bears or Skins-Browns game, he got hurt fairly painfully (can't exactly remember whether it was a dislocated shoulder, cracked ribs, or something with the sternum), and refused to get off the field, and ended up making some pretty brutal solo flying tackles the next 2-3 plays as the other team ran at him. He would struggle to get up, making pained faces, then get back into the D-formation and re-wound himself again on the next play. I've never seen someone put themselves at risk like that on the field. Won me over to the Smootwagon immediately. And I F-ing hate the Skins!
He's very far from fragile, the guy's got King Kong balls!
Is he playing tonight?
Can I get a injured list? I really need an injured list. I think I saw somewhere that Williamson is hurt and not playing tonight.
So about that injured list.....anybody have a link to one?
not worried about smoot at this point.
I'm not worried about Smoot either.
Last week in Mankato he snuck on the field, against the coaching staff's wishes, to compete in practice, even though he injured his neck earlier. We're talking practice. Not a game. Practice. Smoot is the man.

He does get injured all the time but what was the alternative? We could have started B.Williams and than teams would run 3 reciever sets and kill our nickle back. So as far as I am concerned, I take smoot injured or not.
Smoot isn't a big guy, so he does get a lot of nagging injuries. However, these injuries never keep him from starting(meaningful games not preseason games). He has missed 2 games in his 4 year career, so to be concerned about him being fragile is ridiculous.
It's preseason, so all these nagging injuries get exaggerated, since coaches don't let guys play in preseason, with even the slightest injury. If it was the regular season, smoot would be starting and thats all that matters.
