FoxSports take on the game
FOXSPORTS:
Steelers at Vikings: Most of America turned away from the Vikings in disgust back when Daunte Culpepper was lying in a crumpled heap on the turf, his teammates were getting naked on a tour boat, and Mike Tice was blaming global warming and the Illuminati for the team's shortcomings. Since then, they've embarked on a six-game winning streak, and everyone wants to give credit to Tice and backup quarterback Brad Johnson.
Granted, Johnson could have pulled a Tommy Maddox and steered the Vikings into a ditch. And Tice? Well, he didn't accidentally set fire to the locker room or anything. But there are two real reasons why the Vikings have been so hot:
Reason One: The defense, led by Darren Sharper and Antoine Winfield, has generated 22 turnovers in the last six games after producing just 10 in the first seven games. The defense has also been excellent in the red zone, allowing just six touchdowns on 18 opponents' trips inside the 20-yard line in six games.
Reason Two: Most of the Vikings' opponents have been pretty awful over the last six games.
So here come the Steelers, a team with a healthy starting quarterback, no coaching strife, and an offense that doesn't cough the ball up. If the Vikings are for real, they'll prove it this week. If Johnson is that good, he'll read the Steelers' blitz and pick it apart with short passes. If Tice is a coach worth keeping, he'll have his team ready to win a tough, physical game in the trenches.
Take the Steelers.

The crazy thing here is that BOTH QB's are one hit away from being knocked out of the game and worthless back-up's coming in. What I mean by that is:
a) Ben hits his thumb on a "D" helmet on his follow through
b) B.J. has someone roll up on his already injured ankle
Either way, it could possibily come down to Shaun Hill or Tommy Maddox .... both are scary options for either team.
By the way, Steelers -3 1/2 in Minny ... Take the Vikes to cover and win ... Easy money .....

Actually Charlie Batch is the #2 qb with Maddox now #3. Batch actually looked good in the cleveland game for us (until he got hurt).
Re: FoxSports take on the game
I am going to LOVE it when FOXSPORTS has to eat crow along with the rest of the sports media and all of the Pittsburgh fans!!! :evil4:
Re: FoxSports take on the game
Not to mention...
Batch is 2-0 this year
Maddox is 0-2 this year

It's just completely disrespectfull to give an opposing, on the road team a hair over a FG against another team with the exact same record and a six game winning streak, not to mention 5-1 at home this season, no matter what anybody thinks of the oppostion they played in the past.
It's going to be FUN, Ticey has them fired up !!!!

You are putting your hopes in Charlie Batch?!
Good luck, buddy.
Re: FoxSports take on the game
Gads, I hope their minds is on the game and not on the "scandal." What a terrible time for that news to break. Then again, maybe it will make them so mad they'll CRUSH the Steelers!
