    FoxSports re-ports

A little reading material just before regular season.

Good luck in the upcoming game, and in the regular season. Seal the deal in the NFC North for me, will ya? :salute:

Thanks Sacred Star good game to you too. I really can't wait for this game.

That article was kind to the Vikes, not kind to the Pack. They said the Pack is primed for a fall and Ahmad Carroll is a bust. Meanwhile we are a sleeper team and Marcus Robinson will thrive. Oh and Kevin Williams is an emerging star. I like it!

Five first-round draft picks who will be busts
    1. Philip Rivers
Babe Laufenberg, Mark Malone, Mark Vlasic, David Archer, Jim McMahon, Billy Joe Tolliver, John Friesz, Bob Gagliano, Stan Humphries, Gale Gilbert, Sean Salisbury, Jim Everett, Todd Philcox, Ryan Leaf, Craig Whelihan, Jim Harbaugh, Erik Kramer, Moses Moreno, Doug Flutie and Drew Brees followed Hall of Famer Dan Fouts and preceded Rivers in San Diego. Not only does Rivers have the Chargers' brutal QB legacy to deal with, but his unorthodox side-arm delivery and ridiculous training camp holdout don't bode well.

    2. J.P. Losman
Quick, name a quarterback from Tulane who has gone on to NFL glory. Sure, Shaun King had his moments. Going back further, Bubby Brister was a serviceable passer. Maybe Losman will be different.

    3. Ahmad Carroll
Carroll's been given a golden opportunity to start thanks to camp no-show Mike McKenzie, but the Packers seem reluctant to pencil him in as a starter going instead with the very pedestrian Michael Hawthorne.

    4. DeAngelo Hall
The cornerback/return specialist has suffered a hip fracture that will likely ruin his rookie year.

    5. Jason Babin
The Texans traded up to select this Western Michigan defensive end. Babin could be a real diamond in the rough, but we think otherwise of the undersized end from an undersized program in an unheralded conference.

Thought this was interesting, sorry cheesewedge fans!

Well....if Jim Reineking of FoxSports reports that Ahmad Carroll will be a bust, then it's definitely going to happen. Green Bay might as well cut their losses and get rid of him now, huh?

Also, very interesting that in typical fashion you fail to mention that the same article mentions Javon Walker among "5 emerging stars" and Joey Thomas among "Five players you've likely never heard of who may have an impact this season".

I guess Jim Reineking must only be an expert when he praises the Vikings and criticizes the Packers? Give me a break.

True I forgot to mention Walker and Thomas.

But I think the reason he said what he did about Carroll is that, well he just won't keep up with Moss, Williams and Rogers among others. Plus you guys play Philly and Indy this year too. Face it his rookie year he will be up against some of the best receivers in the game and he just won't live up to all the hype you guys are surrounding him with.

I don't think there is much hype for batman, in green bay. The guy isn't even gonna start, I believe. He won't be playing the WR's you mentioned, he will be up against the #2 and #3 WR's of everybodies teams. I still think batman is gonna be a damn good CB in the league. The kid was very very raw coming out of college, and now that he struggled a little, he gets the bust label. Every team knew, that if they drafted batman, that he was a project and wasn't gonna be that good for awhile, so it isn't a suprise to me that he hasn't looked great yet.

I don't agree with DeAngelo Hall being a bust either, or losman for that matter. Losman is another favre type QB, and will be the 2nd best QB in this draft, behind Eli, and followed closely by schaub.
