Former Badger doesn't doubt Bollinger's ability

Tauscher recalls QB leading UW to Rose Bowl win

Hmmm good point.. 8 years removed and let the RB do most of the work..

To be sure, Bollinger's job that first year at Wisconsin in large part was to limit his mistakes and let Dayne do the work. Eight years later, his job won't be altogether different if he indeed starts on Sunday in place of injured Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, who is recovering from a concussion. With No. 2 quarterback Kelly Holcomb already sidelined due to a neck injury, Bollinger took over midway through Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Sidney Rice. Running back Adrian Peterson did the rest. The rookie rushed for an NFL-record 296 yards and is the league's leading rusher.

I wonder if he also is still sniffing Cheeseburger Dayne.
Bollinger played some good ball in college and may be able to play some sporadic Dilferesque ball in the NFL.
Bollinger.
Have a tough time getting excited about the guy.

As long as he doesn't fumble on the fifty with the game on the line again, I'm willing to see him play. It's not like we got anybody else. But I won't be happy with another stupid fumble.

of the three that are on the roster I would rather see Bollinger right now.
It is waaaaaay too obvious that TJack is not ready for the NFL.
So, on a relative basis of the three I like Bollinger.
He doesn't get me excited as an NFL caliber QB though.

Right now Bollinger gives us the best chance of winning. I also do not believe TJ is ready for the NFL.

Re: Former Badger doesn't doubt Bollinger's ability

Bollinger deserves a chance. I don't think anybody....including me expected much from him and he's come off the bench as a number 3 guy and shown me a lot of heart, guts and tallent I didn't know was there. OK...He fumbled once...That's gonna happen once in awhile no matter who's at QB.

The point is he's reading defenses well....He's cool in the pocket and can take a hit, and not have to leave the game. He's making good decisions and has a decent arm with some accuracy. I am all in favor of rewarding good execution/play with playing time. Maybe Brooks is the kind of guy that just needs a chance to work with a starting offense to get motivated enough to elevate his performance. I know most players are like that, with personalities that lend themselves to wanting to make a real statement once they get the opportunity to start.

He's hands down better than Holcomb anyways...I think currently...he gives us the best chance to win.

Cheers!
