Foreman 'elated' over losing rushing record

Foreman 'elated' over losing rushing record

Chuck Foreman wasn't at all disappointed to see Adrian Peterson set the new Vikings record for rushing yards in a game.

The ever gracious Chuck Foreman, will see many Viking rushing records become Adrian Peterson's.
Viking history will be logging the feats of "All Day" Adrian, and we are fortunant enough to witness a guy that you can build a team around.

Chuck has always been a class act & one of the most underated RB's of his time.

Chuck is a class act for sure.

As for AD breaking all kinds of records, lets just worry about one game at a time for now.

Can anyone else list at least 5-10 RB's who were the next saviours for teams but only failed to dissapoint because they couldn't stand up to the grind of the NFL?

Lets hope the Chiller stays smart with how he uses his two headed monster and doesn't succomb the insane idea of using him more than he is now.

The players union studied team rosters from the 1987 to 1996 seasons, an average of 1,647 players a year, or about 16,000 player years. The study showed the average career of an N.F.L. player is 3.3 years. The shortest careers were those of running backs (2.57 years), followed by wide receivers (2.81) and cornerbacks (2.94).

Amen to that. He has always been one of my favorites to don a Vikings uniform.
Not just a great player. A great person as well.

It was my honor to be present, as a fan , at his ring of honor ceremony.

Chuck set a fine example for all young players.

A great player and I wish I'd seen him play live *sigh*. Still nice to see a 'from the heart' congratulations to someone breaking the record instead of that video travesty when St Brett took the TD record

Absolutely right on both accounts...he was something to behold.

I did a notebook item for Wednesday on former Vikings Pro Bowl running back Chuck Foreman reacting to Adrian Peterson breaking his single-game rushing record on Sunday. There were a few Foreman quotes that did not appear in the paper. Here they are.....

Nice to see Chuck catching the AD spirit and helping spread the word.

Thanks for that, singersp. Living in NY, I don't see nearly as much as I'd like...but I was fortunate to have seen Chuck Foreman in the 70's. For anyone who hasn't, you can get a sampling on Youtube...there are some pretty good highlight clips of him. He was some excellent receiver too.
