Floyd, Rhodes, Patterson - How do you grade them so far?

So where do you think these guys are in their careers when the new stadium opens?

You may want to read the resume of our WR coach and who he has developed. He may be the one we have worth keeping.

    Impossible to grade them.

Floyd will get exposed because our whole unit sucks. Same as Rhodes. Patterson we know is a work in progress, and to expect much on offense from him is unrealistic.

With how bad our team is playing, you cna't possibly evaluate them.

Rhodes - B+ : He's made a couple mistakes, but he's probably been our best cover guy this season. Even when completions have been thrown his way he's at least been close to making a play on the ball. He's one of our few defensive players who looks like he actually belongs out there. He's already solid and has a ton of potential, especially with a new coaching staff.

Floyd - C : I haven't seen enough of him, but when he's been in he's been inconsistent. He's made a couple play but it doesn't seem like he's made much of a splash.

Patterson - A- : He's already the best returner in the league. In his few opportunities, he's made some plays. He had a really nice catch against the Browns and a solid grab against the Packers a couple days ago. I'm excited to see what he can do with a real coaching staff.

Why, it's apparent the veterans are going down hill very fast, how is he helping them?

So far this looks like a bad draft, Rhodes can't cover and is constantly getting targeted by the opposition, Floyd rarely plays and Joe Webb is more involved than Patterson on offense, Patterson however looks like a good returner, but you don't draft return-guys in the first round.

The problem with this first round was that the players we selected were all very raw and not players who would contribute in the first season, therefore Spielman tried to rebuild a 10-win and the plan should have been different.

I hope the draft picks can evolve and be a bigger part of the team in the future, but they are not ready right now.

    Pro Football Focus Grades

    Shariff Floyd, DT, Minnesota Vikings
    Grade: -3.6
    Snaps: 198
Analysis: Hasnít really proved anyone wrong yet with his draft day drop. A part of the Vikingsí rotation, he has seven quarterback disruptions but has failed to make a real impression against the run. The team is easing him into a more prominent role in the years to come.

    Xavier Rhodes, CB, Minnesota Vikings
    Grade: -1.9
    Snaps: 337
Analysis: An uneventful time of things outside of getting flagged a poor four times. Yet to allow a touchdown and does a decent job for the most part of not letting receivers in behind him with the 19 catches heís allowed averaging just 9.6 yards.

    Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
    Grade: +1.7
    Snaps: 103
Analysis: Well he hasnít exactly seen a lot of playing time on offense has he? But where he has made a big contribution is on special teams where his kick returning sees him leading our rankings in that department. Still is there a logical reason why heís not getting more snaps?
