Do you realize this thread is probably a couple months old, when Joe was struggling, and hadn't made a solid case for big time money. Zero chance now, but had he missed the playoffs, there's an outside possibility they let Joe go, considering they'd be in a good spot to pickup a QB in the draft.

Yeah ... and I get that obviously now it isn't going to happen. I saw it bumped back into the huddle and thought it had come back up.

But, even when the thread started (12/31/12) ... it was a ZERO percent because he had already led them to a home playoff game that they were heavy favorites in. Everyone has known all year that Flacco was almost certainly going to be back in Baltimore, only whether it was longterm or on a franchise deal. The thread is not a "couple of months" old. It was started the day after the regular season ended and at that point it was already a done deal that Flacco would not hit the open market.

Obviously now it is more of a done deal.

Spielman has said that 3 in is the time to evaluate Ponder so it won't happen but i would take Joe Flacco yes.. He is a good QB that can do what we need him to do with Adrian in the backfield.

Bigger question is, was Joe really struggling? Was he the issue?

Take a look at what the team did in/around the time Joe quit "Struggling".

I'm of a mind Joe was never the problem but rather issues at the OL (complete shake up), WR (Boldin emergence) and most importantly "Play Calling" (fired their O-coord) that cause fans to blame Flacco for the issues.

One thing I did notice (only after they talked about Kaep the day after the SB) was how poorly he produces in areas other than long throws especially in the Red Zone. His numbers are terrible.

Not blaming him, but rather maybe he and Boldin need to work on that area of their game if Boldin is back next year.

Hasn't done anything? Have you looked at his numbers compared to the likes of other playoff QBs.

In the end he hasn't proven anything other than you can get labeled something (manager) your not based on the team around you.

As I just said, 3 factors really came into play, better OL play after the shakeup, better WR play (emergence of Boldin as a Z) and the play calling.
