There is only one key, consistently score more points than the opponent.

Cant argue that prophet.
...Rodgers had to hold on the ball longer, giving players like Jared "I am completely insane and will literally eat your children" Allen time to sack Rodgers again. And again. And again. Actually I think Rodgers may have nightmares about Jared Allen the rest of the year.

Oh now c'mon ... we all know that. But there are ways to get to the point where you are scoring more points than the other team. Those are worth discussing. There is only one key, consistently score more points than the opponent.

I think tackle, tackle, tackle is a perfect key that we definitely need to address and get better at.
I also think hope for health matters because if we get thinner in the secondary we are going to be in real trouble I think.

Re: Five keys for the Vikings to make a championship run
I agree with the depth in the secondary.
I think 2 of the most important things are consistent line play.
Our O-line needs to continue as it did the last 4 games and not the first 4 games and keep Favre off his back.
Our D-line needs to stay dominant and allow our secondary to make some big plays.
The giants showed two years ago what you can do with dominant line play.
And overall I think we have a better team than that team.

For us to compete and win the NFC I think we need to execute better on D, namely tackling as mentioned by others, but also better gap control by our LBs on run plays to get back to our dominating stats on rushing defense... also, we need to start forcing more turn overs.
We've been lucky that our O isn't making many mistakes cause the D definitely isn't giving them a short field often.
We have maybe 6 turn overs on the year by our Offense?
Normally that'd be great but our D has been lacking explosive plays. The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

There have been a few good plays here and there but what do they have 1 defensive TD?
The only one that comes to mind is JAs FR against the Rams.
I think Sharper by himself is beating the Vikings in INTs (if not pretty darn close).
The d-line have been pressuring the QB pretty consistently even when rushing 4.
If they can continue that should help the LBs and DBs in coverages.
The offense is really starting to click and hope that continues.
I love the fact this team can beat the blitz that they haven't been over the past few years.
I like how Rice is coming into his own and becoming a real threat.
Wish he had a little more speed but he makes up for it with his excellent body and hand control.

Hopefully they will continue to mature and will be prime for the playoffs.
I think the reduction in INT's is the passive playcalling for the secondary.
I think the secondary is just trying to cover enough so the D-line can get the sack and not give up the big plays.
Sharper's lack of INT's here was the same reason. Obviously, the Dcoord in NO is giving him more freedom to make plays, knowing the NO offense can respond to any scoring of the opponent.

Re: Five keys for the Vikings to make a championship run
We seem to have the Int discussion alot every year
It's the scheme not the players
The way we run the cover 2 is keep everything in front and come make the tackle
I don't like it.. But that's the way it is
