Great decision about Sage, even though he was clearly the second best qb on this team. We're rebuilding, we have no need for a veteran backup.

    Rebuilding/Youth Movement: ON

That is a lot of young guys! Our QBs are in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd years. Our TEs are 1st, 2nd, and one 4th year players. Etc, etc...

Looks like keeping the extra LBs and WRs was offset by trimming down the DL and OL depth. Better hope we can stay healthy along the lines!!! I mean, well, we're not going to really compete for this division anyway, maybe we should be rooting for another early draft pick so we can perhaps rebuild a bit faster...???

I do like Asiata sticking, kid runs hard and provides multi backup to RB/FB and STs. I'm glad WR Burton is going to get a chance, but, you know, somebody is going to have to go when Jumpin Jerome's suspension ends...

Boy do we love our TEs!! I do like Reisner sticking tho, and Ellison has looked good in his limited action too...and Carlson still hasn't played/practiced much...?

MBT has good size and did play a lil pro-ball with the Sacramento Mountain Lions...maybe, someday...

If Ponder went down Sage wasn't going to carry this team to a playoff run. We just aren't ready as a team for that yet.
    Agree completely Singer.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

When Simpson comes back, Aromashodu out?
Unless he somehow develops steady hands in those first three games.

First off, we hope none of our other WRs get hurt and answer this question for us!! Doh! Knock On Wood!

But, yeah, Aromashadu or Burton most likely...at least we get another 3 week try-out period! But, it would seem Harvin (duh), Wright (due to draft slot/potential/return depth), and Jenkins (our possession guy/vet who already took a paycut), would be locks barring some sort of series of horrible mistakes...

To be fair, however, you should acknowledge that NO ONE is going to lead us on a Play-off run. We simply don't have the firepower to make that type of impact. So, using that as justification to cut Sage is a bit...empty.

However, since we don't have that firepower, and we desperately need to acquire or develop it (or hope it drops into our laps), keeping Sage as a "mentor" seems rather pointless. It makes more sense to push toward youth and see who comes out on top.

After all, at this point we LITERALLY have nothing to lose.

Final cuts to 53 man roster

    Agreed.

When you hit rock bottom you may as well throw caution to the wind and make some daring moves. Although they haven't really been doing anything daring with the roster so far. Underwhelming yes but not daring.

Well look on the bright side, with the decision to keep Webb on the roster at least he may be useful as a WR - seeing as he isn't showing the potential to be a QB we as well get some use out of him.

Vikings: Five players signed to practice squad

RB Jordan Todman was hampered by a badly sprained ankle. The team also resigned OL Tyler Holmes , DT Chase Baker and CB Bobby Felder, who were with the team this preseason....former Packers WR Tori Gurley,
