A few Vikings could be leaving

A few Vikings could be leaving

Expect some offseason changes in personnel

With an outside shot at making the playoffs, the Vikings will be in Denver on Sunday for a regular-season finale that could bring down the curtain on more than the calendar year.

It also could be the final game in a Vikings uniform for several players.

Here's a look at some players who might not be back in 2008.......

Could be some other names that weren't mentioned in this article, but I agree that Brooks Bollinger, and Kelly Holcomb could be elsewhere, probably BB, as we might retain Holcomb for another season. I hate to see Mewelde go, but he should be playing. So he is going to be gone.
Troy W, is probably gonna benefit most by a change in scenery, and I still think he could become a fair wide-out. Now there are some pot heads on the team that may be gone, Dwight Smith, and Darrion Scott. Childress may keep Scott, but it's really unlikely he keeps Smith who has had more than his fair share of runnins with the law, and the Chiller. That isn't all as we could make some surprising trades, and grab a free-agent or two, but that's another thread.

Thanks for the article Singer.
Looks like there are really no surprises to me.
I think they may add Darrion Scott to that list after this latest issue along with his wanting to be handed a starting role at the beginning of the season.
He's a good player but I don't think he seems to grasp the team concept.

Troy Williamson - Just as he is starting to bloom as a wide receiver, and when he could have another great offseason to work on route running and mental focus, the Pioneer Press wants him off the team. Thanks, guys. You do know that Randy Moss doing all that as a rookie was an aberration, don't you? Developing talent means nothing to them?

Dwight Smith - the only Viking to have played for a winning Super Bowl team. He provides leadership. It would be dumb to lose him unless we can find someone better.

Mewelde Moore - I don't understand why we didn't give him more chances. I understand he can get more money elsewhere. I wish we could keep him though.

Bollinger and Holcomb - Keep Bollinger as
backup. Let Holcomb go. He's paid his dues. He's just too old now.

I think we need a player in each of the positions mentioned (WR, S & QB also a CB if not a S) here so these guys leaving would not affect next season much. imo our main target as far as the players we have now is keeping CT so the running game is there next year! Cant see the Chiller standing for the players who have had off-field issues and think they will be gone.

think this will our most interesting off-season for a while.....

It works for us. Is it asking you to register or just taking too long to load?

Players come and go.
They will always be replaced by someone who will "Almost" make you forget about them.

Since the day Joey Browner left (first real favorite Viking) I have resolved myself to think of the team first and then the players.
Makes it easier when they do go my friends.

Lets hope they get something done next year with the stadium issue so we can keep saying that about the MN Vikings.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
