A few points about the season, and the upcoming match at Phi
The first point that must be made - Culpepper's amazing year and Moss' ailments aside, is that Antoine Winfield is a freakin' pimp. Actually, pimp doesn't quote cover it, but it'll have to do. When Brian Williams matures more, and I believe he might (though I'd still try to draft a Marlin Jackson if we had the chance), Winfield has given our defense a new fire.
We have learned the importance of a good linebacking corps - we needed one throughout the year and still need one, but we're getting better.
We've learned that Randy Moss is an amazing player - we knew that already - but a fickle leader. He's a great guy, we know this, but he has to know that he is under a microscope and needs to take it easy.
On that subject, though Moss did burn him when it counted, and make me knock over and break a $100 glass in the process, Al Harris is someone we will have to remember in the future. I hate the Pack, but Al Harris got shafted from the Pro Bowl - Lito Sheppard did not face the type of competition he did.
We have also learned that Denny Green was right - nobody plays like we play when we play. Daunte is maturing, and will continue to do so, and as his maturation continues, so will our success.
We SHOULD be learning that we need a go-to running back. The RBBC only works with two backs and a third down specialist - in my opinion, Michael Bennett, Mewelde Moore, and Moe Williams (or Onterrio, if he can block,) and we need to learn this lesson real fast, before Corey Simon teaches us.
We've learned that once a Chicago Bear, always a Chicago Bear (read: Marcus Robinson.)
We've learned that Joe Buck is so concerned about morality that he works on a television station that brought us Temptation Island, and other such clean and novel television shows.
And finally, we have learned that confidence is EVERYTHING. Not our confidence - it counts for very little - but that of the team.
Have no expectations of the Vikings this Sunday, but have hope. It worked last week. SKOL VIKES!

I have learned many things this season as well.
I have learned that I do, in fact, love Daunte C-Pepp.
I have learned that I do, in fact, love Jimmy K ( it has sucked without him, but not as much as it could have)
I have learned that I love watching our defense play good defense
I have learned that there is still really nothing special about our special teams, except that most of the people involved with it should be wearing different types of helmets, and are special in a different way.
I have learned that I actually physically shake before a Packer Viking playoff game.
I have learned that the Vikings are like a son, they may disappoint, but you still believe that they can do whatever they put their minds to, and that nobody elses sons are, or ever will be as awesome as yours.

We have also learned the value of a reliable kicking game, both for field goals and kickoffs.

Why you picking Lito Shepherd out? He had the best numbers of any of the cb's picked to the Pro Bowl. Why not Ronde Barber or Dre Bly? And if you think Al Harris is better than him...he wasn't let go by the Eagles in favor of Sheldon Brown and Lito Shepherd for nothing. He's solid, but that's about where it ends. I like his aggressiveness at times, but it also gets him in trouble.

Why did we ever let Mitch Berger go? I remember screaming when they didn't resign him. I say this because I had just witnessed the Skins go through 4 or 5 kickers that season and saw how much it cost them...sure enough, without Berger to kickoff, we couldn't resign Gary Anderson (who was still kicking very well and making decently long FGs)...since the the kicker's spot has been a revolving door (and has taken up TWO roster spots). Also our punting game has suffered...and we have been through a few punters as well. Why couldn't they have left well enough alone...dumb butt front office! :pukeright:
