    Ferguson Update (ESPN)

It was a dirty play. I don't think he meant to hurt him as much as it turned out, but that's what happens when you clothesline a guy in the face.

Hope learns his lesson and gets a hefty fine from the league.

    Ferguson Update (ESPN)

Unless your name is Johnstone, more than likely you don't want to give up anymore field position with a 15 yd penalty tacked on at the end.

Come on, why would any player in his position want to intentionally hurt someone or bring consequences against his team that puts you in a position of losing. He is paid to play football and make plays on the ball and on the player. That is his job. If Ferguson would have gotten up and went back to the huddle, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. It was a violent hit and it was unfortunate that Ferguson went down but just because he went down doesn't make it a dirty hit. Wouldn't you try to break up the reception by trying to knock the ball out of Fergy's hands. Well, how do you do that, you have to disrupt him. Darius made a decision that could have hurt him. His was in jeaprody of letting Fergy catch the ball and run on by him for a huge gain. He had to do all he could to stop him. I honestly don't think he meant to hurt him but he did intend to disrupt him.

It is alright to appreciate the fact that this is football.

I am glad Ferguson is alright.

The NFL will make it as right as they can. It will be interesting to see what happens. By definition, blow to the head or however they define it, it was probably the right call by the officials. But the hardest thing to call is his intent. If he is a problem player, the league will ultimately take care of him.

All I am saying is that I think we are too quick to judge Darius for the hit, when this is a violent sport and we all keep complaining that this is the NoFunLeague. Let people play football.

A player can't take plays off and not hit or try to make plays. Oh, oops, I better not try to knock the ball from his hands, I might hurt him.

Take it far what it was, it was a football hit.

This wasn't a rant, it was more of a ramble.

    Ferguson Update (ESPN)

I do think it was a very bad hit, but I don't really think it was intentional. He was going full speed and he was trying to make a play. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was right at all and he deserved to get ejected, get the penalty and he will get a fine too, but that is just the nature of the game. I hope Ferguson recovers!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

    Ferguson Update (ESPN)

I saw the play my first impression was that he was just swinging wildly and didnt mean to hit him like that.

But after those quotes it was a clean hit and this and that man.

He should have just said "I was going for the ball at full speed and flung my arm out He got a bad hit. sorry about that and all really didnt mean it"

Hell i would love to have a guy that is full speed all the time on the vikes. I dont see any of this aggresiveness with any vikes other than maybe winfield.

I'm just glad he is ok.....I'm not sure it was intentional or not....I hope it wasn't and if it was he has to deal with himself for that...I just thank GOD he wasn't paralyzed or anything....you don't ever want to see that happen...

I am glad that he will be OK...NO player deserves to go down like that.
