Pepper has played way fewer games then Favre so I wouldn't really read too much into the whole int ratio. Crazy to think Favre isn't a HOF QB he certainly is. Most great QB's have something not quite right about them in their mechanics or off the field antics. I think favre qualifies as great under both these catergories.

I can live with the fumbles to have him at QB!

In the local fish wrap (Redstar & Trib), they had a an article of the top career QB ratings of all time and Pep was number 5. Ahead of Favre!

Actually the Favre stat isn't exactly dead on. Last year he did throw 21, but the 3 years prior to that he threw 16, 15, 16. Daunte has also never had the same or more attempts in a season as Favre has. But still averages more INTs. Stats for Favre's first 4 full seasons and Peps first 4 go like so...

    Favre in 63 games had
    64 ints
    36 fumbles

    Pep in 57 games had
    63 ints
    66 fumbles

1 less int and 30 more fumbles in 6 less games.

If pepper can do what Farve has done in his career we are lucky.

Yep. Don't get me wrong, Pep is a great person and a great QB, and most of the time the good out weighs the bad on the field. But for anyone to blindly throw out "Brett sucks" is a joke in face of all the facts. Someone can form an opinion to like Pep better, cool. Someone can even form an opinion that Favre sucks, but the stats and facts say otherwise.

Vikings: Culpepper is fourth-rated passer of all time
    Mark Craig, Star Tribune
    October 8, 2004 VIKE1008

Having trouble understanding the computation and relevance of the NFL's 31-year-old passer rating system?

Don't feel bad. You are not alone.

That much was obvious during a week-long search among Vikings and Texans for someone who could crunch the necessary numbers, make sense of it all and maybe produce a snappy little presentation in time for Sunday's game at Houston.

    Oh, well.

"Man, I have no idea how to work that thing," said Houston's David Carr, a quarterback and the first draft pick in 2002.

"No clue. It makes no sense to me," said Harvard-educated Matt Birk, the Vikings' center.

"Is this trick-question day?" said Vikings kicker Morten Andersen, who has played more games than anybody in NFL history.

    Hmm.

Surely, Daunte Culpepper will know. After all, he leads the NFL in passer rating this season (124.8) and is No. 4 on the career list (89.8) behind Kurt Warner (97.0), Steve Young (96.8) and Joe Montana (92.3).

Daunte Culpepper is the NFL's leading passer this year."I don't, to be honest with you," Culpepper said. "I don't look at my rating."

At least Daunte can tell us how it feels to rank No. 4, a notch behind arguably the greatest quarterback in history. Right?

"Fourth?" Culpepper said. "Man, I didn't know that."

No NFL statistic is more controversial and, according to one of its co-founders, more misunderstood than the passer rating.

"The problem people have is they call it the quarterback rating, which it is not," said Seymour Siwoff of Elias Sports Bureau, who

Rating doesn't mean too much. Favre has played a lot more games then Pepper. And to be honest the fact that he still is in the list is a testiment considering all the passes he has thrown.

He has is a guy who gets it done. He throws across the field he plays recless football. He can break fingers by how hard he throws. Off his back foot off his front foot falling down behind his head. He gets into fights with DL's and has an ass load of charisma. If his stats sucked he'd be in the HOF.
