Favre's arm benefiting from Peterson, Vikings' top

Favre's arm benefiting from Peterson, Vikings' top defense

For the first time in his 18-year starting career, Favre was not asked by his NFL employer to carry the team. The Vikings were a division champion before Favre arrived with NFL rushing champion Adrian Peterson and a Top 10 defense.

Re:Favre's arm benefiting from Peterson, Vikings' top

A excellent read my friend. Thanks.

The ole "Pitch Count" discussions comes up again. Some still say this isn't happening......

    Childress is monitoring Favre's arm

Makes me kindof wonder, if the noodle is on a pitch count and AD has less carries than he had last year at this point, but we are still high up there in TOP and Offensive Plays, someone has to be carrying the load.

I wish I had a stat page were I could look at things like "Passing Attempts" and "Rushing attempts" for players so that I could see/compare how many a player had thrown/kicked/ran at a certain point in every year.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Who says that isn't happening? That's a real question, BTW, because I think this is another one of those "Marrdroisms" that you have taped to your monitor.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re:Favre's arm benefiting from Peterson, Vikings' top

Ya, that is a nice article. No matter how much as a fan I want to hear that we are a good team, it always makes me nervous.

I guess my solice is the record we have and potentially have.

If....... we can beat the teams on the remaining schedule we will be deserving of the talk. Arizona and Cincy are the leaders in their division. NYG is never a slouch. Chicago, a division opponent that has the potential to cause problems as a familiar foe.

OK, lets say we finish the season 14-2 or 15-1. Now with that record, I will feel confident in us being a top team going into the playoffs. I think back to the season in the 80s and 90s when the 49ers finished with records like that. Also look at the Cowboys when they did it in the 90's. They were balanced teams with lots of potential. You could also make the case the other direction with the 1998 Vikes finishing 15-1 and then losing in that fatal game. But I think the difference is that we will finish healthier, cross our fingers and knock on wood. Also, I think we are a more balanced team offensively and defensively.

Ya, I liked that article, especially the fact that it was a Dallas news publication......

Ummm, you mean like this one?
    http://jsonline.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=1025&fn=Brett&ln=Favre&team=16

For the record, Favre is right on pace with where he was at in 2007 and 2008. He is averaging about 32.5 attempts per game. His career average is 34.1 attempts per game.

    Good stuff.

Problem is, it really doesn't give me what I'm looking for my friend. I want stat page that gives me a (A certain point in time) week by week comparison

Only 6 rushes this season. Less than one a game.

This says to me that he is getting time to throw. No need to run. It says good pass protection even though he is going to be sacked more than 30 times this season. It says we have a good scheme in the KAO. It says that he is going to have a few more pass attempts. It also would coincide with the low INT numbers, not being frazzled in a pocket that is breaking down. Also it helps that passer rating. Taking an extra sack here and there instead of turning the ball over by throwing a INT. Smart decisions!

Wow! It is all adding up now. He does not have a noodle arm and it helps that he doesn't have to take extra licks running the ball.

I use that site. Problem is, I have to click "Start", click "Programs", click "Accessories", click "Calculator" and then mash buttons.

Gotta be something out there for a lazy cat like me that wants instant stats. B)

Anyway, did the math so sorry if I made a mistake...

    AD
    2008 Week 12 242 Carries/1180 Yards
    2009 Week 12 230 Carries/1084 Yards

    #4
    2008 Week 12 248/358 Completions/Attempts 2874 Yards
    2009 Week 12 245/347 Completions/Attempts 2461 Yards

Not that significant of a delta IMHO.
