Favre not coming back! Holding Press conf

    This is from Judd Zulgad.

JuddZulgad Vikings ownership and other power brokers just held meeting on sidelines here. Looked very intense. Favre related?

JuddZulgad Brett Favre began telling Vikings officials last night he will NOT return for a 20th season.

JuddZulgad Favre is expected to issue a press release later today. Keep in mind this is Brett Favre and it is Aug. 3.

JuddZulgad I'm told Favre has said his ankle has simply not responded and that is why he won't be back.

JuddZulgad There is a chance ownership will go back to Favre with an offer of more than the 13 million for this season.

Favre saying that he's retiring doesn't have to mean he's retiring. His ankle might just feel better in a month.

We'll see how this turns out. Right now, I'm not putting that much stock into it.

I don't buy it. He said the exact same thing last year about his shoulder... and right after Training Camp ended he shows up in Chilly's car.

The exact same thing will happen this year. No Worries.

I'm putting about as much stock into this as when he said the same thing last year.

Exactly. His ankle will feel better right around the 3rd preseason game.

Yeah...he'll probably be back but this still isn't great news.

So, I'll believe it when I see no Favre come week 1.

There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on [pauses] shame on you. Fool me [pauses] You can't get fooled again.
