Ankles are overrated.
Oh, you mean he isn't a guarantee to play next season? A week ago the general consensus around here was that he was coming back for at least a year (2 years according to some). You'd think this is something that the coaching staff probably knew about a week ago before the draft; Yet we still continue to ignore the QB situation. Don't worry though because Tarvaris Jackson is REALLY ready this time. Can't wait for another season of jump passes and 10-6...

You only need one good one to compete...and I won't believe this story until Kiper confirms it.

The key quote from that article is "This decision would be easy if not for my teammates and the fans and the entire Vikings staff. One year truly felt like 10 -- much like Green Bay for many years. That's what I was missing in my heart I suppose, a since of belonging.'
I have to assume the Vikings were aware of this and have confidence that he'll go ahead and have surgery and come back because they didn't go after McNabb, Campbell, or draft an NFL QB in the draft. I really hope that they aren't betting that TJ or Sage is the guy if Favre doesn't come back. If that's the case, its going to be a long season!

You are absolutely correct! I bet they have interns monitoring tweets at Winter Park so they know Favre's health and plans for next season. They, of course, are relying on this sort of information so they can make plans regarding their offensive field general for 2010.Quote:

and a Favre with one gimpy ankle is still better than a TJ with two good ankles.
Still gives Childress a chance to revert the KAO to
1 run left
2 run right
3 run middle
4 punt
Seems like a compelling excuse to miss training camp anyway.

I thought it was up the middle twice, then a throw underneath to the third down back, then punt.Quote:

This ought to get things humming around here.
