Speaking of favorite Dennyisms and all, who remembers how good Jerry Burns was with the media? THAT guy knew how to deal with dumb-ass reporters!!!!!

I had to go with Mike Tice, I'm such a youngin that the only coaches that I can remember are him and Denny (I didn't watch much football before Denny) and I definately like Tice more

Does anyone OTHER than me remember Jerry Burns' famous "Killer Instinct" speech to reporters after the Vikes "backed into" the playoffs? I think it was, like 1985, 1986, around there...

I did - only because he made my time watching the Vikings more memorable, and I don't remember the Vikes' early years with Bud Grant (I only became a huge fan about 1974, when I was 10. ).

I figured only a Packer fan would vote for a Vikings coach that went 3 - 13. :evil4:

Sorry shockzilla I don't remember that speech. I was pretty young when Jerry Burns was coach so I didn't really follow what was happening off the field. But I don't think he did a bad job, three playoff appearances including the '87 championship game which is the year I became a Vikings fan after seeing them take down the almighty Niners.

Between Burns, Denny, and Tice though, so far Denny has been the most successful coach despite all our issues with him. But of course Bud Grant is the greatest coach in Vikings history and even though I don't remember him I had to vote for him.
