Favorite Viking victory of all time

I have a specific game in mind that was one heck of a victory:

I believe it was week one, in 1979, Metropolitan Stadium, against the San Francisco 49ers...

The Vikes had been shut out most of the game, and there were about 7-8 minutes left, and they were down 0-22. Tommy Kramer brings them back for 4 touchdowns in the last quarter, and they win 28-22! That's the game that gave Two-Minute Tommy his name...

    Anyone else remember that game?

Last season sucked so that erases the lambeau victory but it was still great! Winning against the Slackers in lambeau in 98 was awesome, 37-24 i believe. The playoff win against the Saints in 2000 was great cause i was there! I hope this season is a great one for us!!! 11-5 for the vikes.

I, personally, liked both '98 victories against the Packers.

The first one where Moss tore them up.

The second one where Favre really sucked.

Favorite Viking victory of all time

The Viking victory in the rain at Lambeau in 98 is up there in my book.

But perhaps my favorite would be the Vikings crushing defeat of the mighty 49ers in the 87 playoffs. The Vikings, as I recall, were a wild card team and little was expected of them in the playoffs. For that matter, I think it was the first season the Vikings had made the playoffs in some time. The Vikings absolutely destroyed the Saints in the first round, but were still expected to be crushed by the 49ers in the second round. The Vikings came out firing on all cylinders, scoring early and often and not letting up. The Niners were forced to play catch-up but never could sustain much offensively. The game wasn't nearly as close as the 38-22 score indicated (at least that was the score as I remember it). Anthony Carter was simply marvelous in those two games. The following week, the Redskins and Vikings played a hard-fought game for the NFC title. The Vikings came up a little short as Darrin Nelson couldn't hang onto a low pass near the ground that would have tied the game late. The Redskins won 17-10.

    Favorite Vikes victory

    Hey Pat:

You have a GREAT memory - the way you described that game was right on. The Vikes fell behind 0-10 to the Saints the week before, then scored 44 straight points (I think still a Vikes record for most consecutive points) to blow the Saints away, then the next week against the Niners AC went nuts and had the game of his career (something like 10 catches for 227 yards).

The next week against the Redskins was a huge letdown...

I have several wins i really liked but the one that comes to mind was the win in the playoffs against the giants in 98 I think. The Vikings fell behind with about three minutes left in the game and came back to win.
    can we clone Bud Grant?
