Farwell, Mitchell both lost for the season

    http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1801
The Vikings lost both defensive end Jayme Mitchell and linebacker/special teams ace Heath Farwell because of torn anterior cruciate ligaments suffered in Friday’s preseason loss to Seattle. Farwell tore his right ACL in the first quarter. Mitchell, the second-team left end, tore his left ACL.

Bad news to lost both of them. Even with the field turf that dome is eating too many ACL's.

Heath is a special teams star, who might had a chance to see the field this year, thats a bummer that we cant have him on the squad this season..

Mitchell is pretty good depth, also not good to see two players like that go down in the first game.. unlucky business :/

This is definately not good news. We can expect our STs coverage to take a step backwards. Mitchell may be an even bigger loss, we now only have Edwards for a LDE, and he has been hurting all training camp.
