Re: Is it to far fetched
We already beat the so-called NFC champ, the Giants, in their house.
Unlike the AFC, there are no clear dominant teams like the Colts and Steelers. Here is how I see our competitors:
Seattle: I don't see Seattle as unbeatable. They have a very solid QB and a very good running back, but beyond that, what do they have ? Do you think Joe Jurevicious is going to beat our secondary ?
Atlanta: Pretty decent team, but the team that we put out there against them had not gelled yet, and had a QB who turned the ball over and was in the pocket way too long. Our defense had not gelled yet. Atlanta is ok, but Vick is vastly overrated. They are a mediocre team masquerading as a NFC champ.
Dallas: Well, I live in Dallas, so this one is easy. Dallas is ok, but their QB makes too many bad decisions downfield. Their running back situation is shaky, with injuries and Marion Barber now starting. Their receivers are just ok, nothing special, and you can get physical with Terry Glenn and take him out of the game (Darren Sharper, I hope you are listening). Their defense is very, very tough against the run and good against the pass. They are probably a playoff team, but there are chinks in their armor.
Chicago: Great, great defense. However, as Ditka said, getting only 13 points on offense a game is going to catch up with them.
Tampa: I just don't see Chris Sims doing it. He is too inexperienced.
Carolina: they could do it. Steve Smith is having a great year. Their team is very balanced. The defense is good, and they have lots of guys with playoff and Super Bowl experience. However, that loss to the Bears has to worry them. They got pushed around. I think the Vikings team that played them had not gelled yet and we would play them much tougher this time around. Brad Johnson played against them a lot at Tampa.
Bottom line: the Vikings have an outside shot at it. Our team is gelling, and we have some serious talent, AND guys like Sharper and Brad Johnson who have playoff and Super Bowl experience.

It will be a tough run, but it is possible.
The Patriots are sitting on top of their division at 6-5. I wouldn't count them out yet, they will probably finish at 10-6 judging from their schedule.

Yes. Oh, and by the way, Tom Brady has never lost in the post-season.

Re: Is it to far fetched
Sure we have a chance but to mention Chicago as the team to be scared of is just silly. The bottom line is we will have to go on the road TWICE and we have seen what good teams have done to us on the road ... sure a lot has changed ... but I don't want to go to Seattle that is for sure. Seattle is obviously beatable, but to consider putting the Bears as a better team over the Hawks is a little far-fetched. Seattle can score at will for the most part and their defense is VERY solid ... I personally am not SCARED of any team in the NFC, but I dont like my chances on the road in back-to-back weeks ... a win out and stealing a bye would be nice :-)

To go anywhere in the playoffs (providing we make it) we have to win our division. If we end up as a wild card we are cooked.

I think we might be able to make a wildcard if we were like 10-6. Maybe I am wrong, but I think we could. Our remaining schedule is easy (except Pittsburgh and Chicago) and is mostly at home. To be honest, the way we are playing, I think we can do it.

Re: Is it to far fetched
The best shot the Vikes have is to do what they have been doing the past four games. Take out the running game and make the QB beat you. Other than Peyton Manning, there isn't a QB out there that can win the game on their own. Especially the Bears. Brad keeps his conserative but effective approach to putting points on the board and the D makes Orton beat us. Orton is due for a horrific game.
