Fans want new home for Vikings: E-Rant

E-RANT
As long as 60-plus percent of Minnesota residents watch the Vikings' games and all of the contests are on free local TV, then the new stadium should be publicly financed. You had better pray for continuous sellouts, however, because the public uproar over any "Northern Lights" blackout could be hazardous to politicians' health.
Dennis, Eagan
Of course the Vikings deserve a new stadium  funded entirely by their billionaire owner, Zygmunt Wilf, the unfortunate recent Twins precedent notwithstanding.

Time passes so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that our Twin Cities papers depicted or showed what was apparently a group of movers and shakers dragging a huge kitchen sink to the bargaining table in order to get the Dome. The Dome forced the Twins and their fans into embarrassment and did away with the true Purple People Eaters.
Without a formidable coach, playing inside on a rug and horrendous ownership problems, it is a wonder the Vikings even exist.

This has very little to do with money for a stadium and everything to do with a bunch of hack politicians. It is pure jealousy by them because this out of stater has come here and has the money to spend on progress.
They know that this guy will have done more for the state of Minnesota in two years then they will ever do, even if they get re-elected 10 times.
Minnesota, the hotbed of liberalism, hates rich people who are successful. Plain and Simple.

This is word for word from an article out of your paper many years ago. I have the newspaper clipping.
"Word is ex-Vikings general manager Mike Lynn's annual take from his 10 percent arrangement from Metrodome private suite revenues is up to $400,000. When Lynn made the deal with then-Vikings President Max Winter 20 years ago, he had the audacity to demand 25 percent of annual Metrodome luxury suite rental before settling on 10 percent. Lynn's deal is for perpetuity."
I believe the Vikings are a plus for the Twin Cities area. Why should taxpayers subsidize not only the owners but then also see revenues given away as part of salaries?

True about the 60%???? Is it that high on Sundays, a lot of people just aren't into sports.??As long as 60-plus percent of Minnesota residents watch the Vikings' games and all of the contests are on free local TV, then the new stadium should be publicly financed. The Cards sold out their new stadium - WOW! But you have to win to keep it sold out years after the newness wears off.
New Unis this year, New Stadium to follow......we have had so much change the last few years...which leads me give out another WOW!
Of course the Vikings deserve a new stadium  funded entirely by their billionaire owner, Zygmunt Wilf, the unfortunate recent Twins precedent notwithstanding.

He totally shit on the entire Vikings team/rog for the last 25 years. The Dome was/is not the best venue, but it gave us a LOUD home field advantage, brought a Superbowl (was it 2?) to town, and it is where we won 2 World Series and coined prases such as Homer Hankies and Purple Pride.Time passes so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that our Twin Cities papers depicted or showed what was apparently a group of movers and shakers dragging a huge kitchen sink to the bargaining table in order to get the Dome. I can agree with the horrendous ownership up to this point. Plus the team exist because the fans have supported the team strong, atleast when we were winning, which was most of that time.
Stretching it a bit. I can see some of this being parts of a whole truth. This has very little to do with money for a stadium and everything to do with a bunch of hack politicians. It is pure jealousy by them because this out of stater has come here and has the money to spend on progress.

The Dome was a very positive thing when it was built. To bad it has to be a sore spot now on the backend. If we knew what we know now, it probably wouldn't have been as good on the front end. This is word for word from an article out of your paper many years ago. I have the newspaper clipping.

Is what Lynn did out of the ordinary, IDK? People profit like this all the time, lining pockets???
