    That's so sad.
    I remember Wally as a player, and always liked him.
    I also enjoyed the fact that he stayed around the T.C. area after his playing days.

    I saw Wally play a lot. Hard-nose kind of guy and a funny practical joker. I loved this quote in the article:
    "Wally had a tremendously strong Christian strength and that really carried him toward the end," said Bob Lurtsema, Hilgenberg's former teammate with the Vikings. "At the end he was at peace with himself."
    I was glad to hear that.
