Glad he learned his lesson and I hope he stays sober.Marshall said he was humiliated by the arrest, has been sober since then and has worked since to urge young people to stay away from drugs.

Good for him but if he is only getting the pardon because he is famous and has lots of money i don't agree with that. Although I don't agree that drug possession should be a felony, the same rules should apply for everyone.http://www.startribune.com/510/story/1109652.html

Re: Ex-Viking Marshall wins pardon
He was 24 years old when he started playing for the Vikings & played for 19 seasons here, retiring at age 42.
That was 28 years ago already. Man how time flys. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago already.

Re: Ex-Viking Marshall wins pardon
<sigh>Marshall was part of a renowned defensive front that included Carl Eller, Alan Page and Gary Larsen in the 1970s. He played more consecutive games and recovered more opponents' fumbles than any other player in NFL history.

Sober?
yeah right.
Maybe from drugs but that guy is a huge booze hound.
If you don't believe me, drop by Ike's in downtown Minneapolis some time and see for yourself.
I am happy about this news though because it seems like it will be a positive for many people.

I thought for a second someone posted using my account.
What if you are a total moron and people confuse you with me?
I can't have my good name tarnished just because you chose the same picture of that brilliant man.

Re: Ex-Viking Marshall wins pardon
He belongs in the Hall of Fame
It is long overdue
Paul Hornung & Alex Karras were banned from the league for a year each & they were allowed into the Hall of Fame
The Captain is waiting, and so is Mick Tingelhoff. . . .When will Jim Marshall & Mick Tingelhoff be allowed into the Hall of Fame??
