I really hope this whole site doesn't turn into one of those "drink the cool-aide or we'll boot you out" kind of deals. I have not drank the coolaide on Tarvaris like some people have, and I don't intent to. Mel Kiper Jr. last night on ESPN radio said that historically, QBs with low completion percentages at the college level "struggle in the NFL". And Tarvaris had a 45 % completion percentage at a I-AA school. And can anyone here claim that Kiper is wrong and that Tarvaris did not "struggle" last year ?

So no, hold the cool-aide. I like Heineken better, anyway.

By the way: Part of being an NFL QB is being in the Limelight a LOT, and fans are either going to hate you, or love you. That is just what happens when you are the guy who gets to handle the ball on every snap. If Tarvaris can't hack that, he should choose another position. And I won't forgo my right to either love or hate my QB...(Sorry).

Yes, I do rip on the guy a lot. If he was any other player or any other position, I would agree that it would get old fast and would be too much. But he is the QUARTERBACK, guys, and that is just the way it is...
I know this was like a week ago ... and someone may have already gotten to it, but where the fuck do you get your stats that you make up? You really think that people don't know how to use fucking Google?
    http://min.scout.com/2/525974.html
Tarvaris' completion percentage at Alabama State was 53.8 % and it was 60.9 % his senior year.
I understand you don't like him ... EVERY ONE OF YOUR POSTS IS ABOUT IT ... but don't just make shit it up. It hurst EVERY ARGUMENT YOU EVER MAKE ... because your credibility is shot.

Sorry, but when I look around the NFL, I see QBs who read defenses, who know how to check down and go through their progressions, who don't panic at the first sign that the pocket is collapsing, and who are accurate with their throws.
I know you didn't ask me, I'm asking you so I can use real facts to disprove your lame arguement.

Again, what metric are you looking for?

1 full season with some injuries involved is too long? Name a QB who only got 1 season to prove he was great?

    Please enter those names....

Bill Walsh said it probably takes 35 games to really evaluate your QB. No link Billick said it on NFLN.
    Thank you.

For the one and only StillPurple who already gave up on Tarvaris, I have a question for you:

How long is long for a QB to develop?

Yes, you listed many NFL teams who have won championship games or at last playoff games, because they have good NFL starting QBs.

    Proves my point, no ?
    What was your point again?
That you could win a SB with a good starting QB or was it more of a question about how long teams should wait for a QB to mature?

Do you even follow football while you are semi-conscious?

The question would be a tad bit more interesting if the question was to name NFL teams that have given a starting QB one year at the helm and then decided to let him go.
That list would be an order of magnitude shorter than a list that gives a QB more than a year to prove their effectiveness or ineffectiveness.
