Erin Henderson “Pissed” About Lack of Respect

Erin Henderson “pissed” about lack of respect
by Darin Gantt on May 15, 2013.

It was supposed to be Manti Te’o. Then it was supposed to be Brian Urlacher.

But at the moment, the Vikings middle linebacker appears to be Erin Henderson, and he’s tired of hearing about everyone else.

“Coach told me all the time, ‘Play angry. You’re too nice sometimes. Play angry,’” Henderson told Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com. “I haven’t been more pissed in — I couldn’t tell you. I don’t think I’ve ever been this pissed in my entire life, to just hear people talk about stuff that they have no idea what they’re talking about.

“I guess it’s getting to a point now where it’s like, ‘Dang, I just want a little bit of respect.’ I’m not asking you to call me the greatest linebacker to ever play the game yet. Maybe one day we might get to that point, but show me a little bit of respect for what I’ve done and what I’ve accomplished in this league.”

It might help if he actually accomplished something on the field before getting pissed about not getting recognized for it. Had he actually played at a level that garnered recognition then the Vikings wouldn't have to toy around with the idea of bringing in a washed up MLB with one leg.

    He's whinny & self-centered. He's a cancer........trade him to Seattle.

If rather just cut him. Not much trade value there. No sarcasm.

Sorry... but what has he accomplished in this league?

Well, play better and you'd get that respect. He was a decent WILL but I am not sure he will be a good MIKE. If he doesn't like that criticism then shut people like me up with his play.

There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

I like this quote, read the article yesterday. I don't see it as whining, but more of a "F- all of you and just watch me."

At least we know he believes in himsmelf (...) and that he is and will do everything he can to become an effective Mike. No need to go to the media really, but angry MLB is a good thing regardless. Erin always seemed like a level guy when he was on P.A. Podcasts last year.

    What about angry backup MLB?

I do agree that he was just trying to motivate himself, pretty meaningless to fans until he shows it on the field. Erin is average and still on an NFL roster. Life's not all that bad for him.
