Eric Bieniemy - Leader of the backs

Leader of the backs: Coach Eric Bieniemy is the man behind the Minnesota Vikings' top-rated rushing attack

Vikings running backs coach Eric Bieniemy was a Heisman Trophy finalist and key performer on a Super Bowl team, but what really dazzles his charges, from stars Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor to reserves Mewelde Moore and Arkee Whitlock, is his abilit

During the offseason, Vikings running backs Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor looked like two cars barreling toward each other in slow motion, destined for a climactic crash.....

Awesome story! This is truely one way to get former player for a coach. One that not only played on the NFL but played along time in the nfl says alot and he knows alot and can teach alot! He has taught alot to Peterson and it shows. Keeping those egos on the top prize and not on indiviual stats. Nuthign I hate worse than ones like loud mouths as in T O he backs it up but AP and Taylor just do their job and go sit down. I am a Marvin Harrison liker. quietly killing the stat book. knows when he gets the TDs he acts like he has been there be4. Its your job you are only getting paid 6 million $$ to do it DUH!
I am THE #1 Sidney Rice #18 Fan ever! Don't Be surprised when this kid IS a superstar! He is humble, smart, tough, talented and has alot of character! Takes alot of pride in his work, team, fans and life. Watch out for this kid! I think he is awesome! Everytime he touches the ball its MAGIC!

A very nice read my friend.
Sure has alot of little nuggets in there, however, this one stands out to me.

"It's all about the team. It ain't about individuals," Taylor said. "We're just trying to win ballgames."
Maybe someone on the team needs to point that out to a certain pot smoking safety.

He has done well but also look at the talent.

C. Taylor and A.P. are some pretty good backs to work with.

AD has admitted he has learned a lot from Bieniemy.

Yes, Bieniemy has been a great coach.
Again, i'll refer back to AD's numbers in college vs. nfl... amazing.
Greater yards/carry and more effective in getting team wins (note: no iowa state or baylor defenses in the nfl), and you can just see in his running style then vs. now.

OU, he was more like a bull banging around and was run into the ground with injuries.
not much on line play or waiting for blocks... he just put his head down and barreled through people.
another note... his RB coach at OU was Gundy...
a middle of the road ex QB who never saw pro action.

kudos to Bieniemy, job well done.

A great quote:
aylor's experience has enabled Peterson's learning curve to be slow and steady. For instance, given the complexity of blitz pickups, Taylor takes the field on most third-down plays.

"His pass protection has improved tremendously," Bieniemy said of Peterson. "But the thing is, you got a Chester Taylor, who has a tremendous amount of experience in doing that, and I think he helps us more in that avenue."
For all those who "hate" the coaching for not playing AP on 3rd downs!

I've been saying for weeks, AD can't pass block that well.

That is why if AD is in there, there's a very high percentage it will be a run & defenses, also knowing that, will key on the run.

When C-Tay is in there it could go either way, so defenses have to play the pass or the run.
