Chris Gamble deserves a fine. Daunte was in the middle of a slide and he nailed his knee.

True DCpologirl, all of it, so true.

He better find someone else to love, cause Tice wont be around next year
I think a lot of the pressure that DC felt all season and part of him not playing well (the deer in the headlight) was the feeling of trying to win Tice's job back for him.

He didn't want to see Tice gone and he was trying to make it his responsibility to win for the coach. Make of it what you want, that is just my opinion.

IMO, Tice was a distraction in that regard.

Culpepper was seen crying in the locker room after Sunday's game, and when asked about his conversation with Culpepper, Tice looked down and mumbled, "He said, 'I love you,' and I said the same thing to him. I love him, too."
What was the source for this, and what was the context.
i think i heard them say that on SportsCenter this morning... but I only got 2.5 hours of sleep... so i couldhave been hearing things.
So there was some paraphrasing going on and the context is unclear. Just wanted to get that clear. I think it shows the heart of DC, for those that couldn't see it in his play.

That is why I made the comment that DC felt pressure to save Tice's job. DC at that point realized that there is nothing he can do to save Tice by winning games and turning the season around, hence the breakdown and tears. Yes, essentially, good bye.

You know, I have not heard much about it, but I thought it was a cheap shot too. Everyone could see he was going down, and everyone knows he has a bad knee. Gamble went straight for the knee when he easily could have completed the play with an upper-body hit. I am not saying for sure it was dirty, a lot of things happen in the field of play, but everytime I saw it in replay it looked dirtier and dirtier.

    Re: Emotion in Locker Room

I was watching the news last night and hearing a few of the players talk about what Daunte's injury really means to them. It seems like they are all truly hurting right now because of it. I think that really showed me how much the guys respect Daunte and look up to him. Even though it has seemed that Daunte hasn't been playing all too well this season, I never question his love for the game. He truly loves the game of football and to go down like that and have your career on the line must be tragic. My prayers go out to Daunte, his family and the entire Viking team right now. I can't imagine how hard this must be.
