Agree, Johnson was the first target.

As to the falcons. Alot of talk out there that they think they can fix their pass woes by going after a CB/S instead of fixing their DL.

If they pay what Nnamdi what he wants, they might not have enough for Ray as well.

Until that CB issue straightens out I don't see them going after a DE right away.

Robison is no JA. If he ends up being our premier DE we are in big trouble. He is alright for playing second fiddle but not the lead.

He is just coming into his own and pretty much plays out of position over there on the LDE spot.

Give him another year or so, additional reps, I don't see why Rob couldn't continue to evolve into a damn fine RDE. He certainly plays the run better than JA does.

You have no comment on Reed? We haven't seen him on the field yet, but logic would dictate that the staff is looking at him for a long term solution, not as a starter this year. We definately got a very talented kid at alot lower slot than he was projected at.

Back to my point on Phat Pat. You draft replacements, you don't draft starters each and every year. If we would have drafted a replacement for Phat Pat a year or two ago we woudn't be sweating that spot this year.

I agree to a point, but if you look at it with the idea that you always have to find a JA, you are going to loose. JA's are rare just like thinking Toby is going to replace AD and be the same.

Cats like that just don't come along. Again, back to Dandre. Maybe he is that rare guy.

Time will tell.

My point, however, is, that you start looking for the rare talent now, and try to grow (ala the Steelers/Pats) him instead of waiting until you have to find one. Makes life simpler and is alot cheaper.

But that is not the way the Vikings operate as evidenced by the sheer number of FA's they bring in. I agree that in theory that is what they should do but reality shows that we are not there and trading away picks on another old and busted QB who can't finish a season doesn't help that. Those late picks could hole the next John Randle type player who went on to have a HOF career.
