Eddie George
Eddie George signed a one year deal with Dallas. He'll have a base salary of $660,000, and a bonus of 1.54 million. With incentives, his total compensation can reach $3 mil.
Word is that George and Jones will split time in the backfield, so that the pressure doesn't all fall on the rookie.
Does this change anyone's opinion of how we'll do against the Cowboys in week 1? I think it will help Dallas a little bit. They'll have a veteran presence in the backfield that is less likely to get rattled by the crowd noise than a rookie. However, last season, Eddie George put up numbers similar to what Troy Hambrick did for Dallas last year. He was once a great runner, but now I think that he's far enough along on the downside of his career that we won't have to do anything more to stop him than what we would do normally. In other words, he's not going to bring anything special.

George was always overrated, a dependable back but not a superstar.
The Dallas line is very good, which should help him some what, but he is no Tony Dorsette or Emmitt Smith. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

I have a helluva lot of respect for Eddie George - he is not the most talented back in the league, but he works HARD, and he steps up to the plate. The man dislocated his shoulder and then ran over Ray Lewis in the next quarter. That's heart.

The addition of Eddie will definatley help the Boys, but fortunately not enough. This is still a win in week one!
God Bless America, & the MINNESOTA VIKINGS!!!

Eddie George with cowboys is an interesting fantasy pick. Solid #2 starter!
